The shocking twist at the end of the Loki finale may have spoiled Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's ending two years before its release. Just like Josh Brolin's Thanos drove the MCU's overarching story, Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror is expected to influence the entire Multiverse Saga. Loki introduced Kang's benevolent variant, He Who Remains, whose death led to Kang's rise to power. But if Kang was shown to have taken over the TVA while Loki and Sylvie were at the Citadel at the End of Time, then Kang's fate in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania seems to be easily predictable.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania sees Scott Lang and the Ant-Man family travel to the Quantum Realm, where Janet van Dyne seemingly reunites with Kang the Conqueror. Apparently, Kang the Conqueror either hasn't wanted or hasn't been able to leave the Quantum Realm. So, if he has been trapped there for such a long time, the villain's statue in the TVA headquarters at the end of Loki could be a dead giveaway of Kang's escape in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, spoiling the film's ending before its technically been revealed.

How Kang and He Who Remains May Have Created The TVA

The time-bending nature of the Multiverse Saga can make the MCU's causality confusing. For instance, the Sacred Timeline's collapse affected every point in time. Therefore, it always existed but simultaneously ceased to exist in the past, present, and future. Likewise, Sylvie killed He Who Remains and caused Kang the Conqueror to take over the TVA, but it only happened after the Avengers from 2023 allowed the Loki from 2012 to be pruned out of existence. So, it's possible that Ant-Man and his allies helped Kang escape the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania; then, Kang may have stolen Ant-Man and Iron Man's time-travel tech from Avengers: Endgame and combined it with his own 31st-century tech and Quantum Realm resources to escape to the TVA. Loki may just have seen the result instantaneously from his perspective.

The implementation of the Avengers' time-travel technology in Kang's TVA would be an ironic but logical twist. After Ant-Man and Iron Man figured out time travel and used it to defeat Thanos, it could have become the origin of the MCU's next big villain. And since Nathaniel Richards is born in the 31st century and the TVA exists outside of time, the Avengers' invention of time travel could also be explained to have been crucial to He Who Remains' original version of the TVA. Regardless of what sequence of events is accurate, both time travel and the Quantum Realm offer the tools to justify He Who Remains and Kang the Conqueror's antics.

Time Can Become The MCU’s Most Powerful Weapon

MCU Kang the Conqueror and Time-Travel in Avengers Endgame

Without external help, Kang the Conqueror may be indefinitely constrained to the Quantum Realm. But after escaping and getting his hands on time travel, Kang can do basically anything. Loki revealed that the TVA agents had the ability to prune any living being or any timeline effortlessly, but only did it when the Sacred Timeline was under peril. As sinister as they were, He Who Remains' methods kept the MCU's timeline in order, which allowed the Avengers to succeed. But now that He Who Remains is gone and the Sacred Timeline is broken, any character who gets their hands on time-related tools can manipulate reality to their will. Whereas Thanos had to conform to the Infinity Stones' MCU rules (and paid the price for doing so), Kang the Conqueror can erase the Avengers, or the whole universe if he so wished, and nobody would even notice.

Loki and Ant-Man Can Be Key To Defeating Kang in Secret Wars

Loki and Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania

In a worst-case scenario, the end of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty sees Kang the Conqueror erase all heroes from existence in an even darker defeat than Avengers: Infinity War. However, he would likely have to deal with Loki and Sylvie, who are safe at the TVA and the Citadel at the End of Time, as well as Ant-Man and his family, who could remain trapped in the Quantum Realm at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Since the places they're trapped in are not affected by pruning or time-travel, Loki, Ant-Man, and their allies could fight Kang and even revert his actions, after which all of the MCU's heroes could join the battle in Avengers: Secret Wars. This sequence of events may be too similar to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, but they make logical sense considering what Phase 4 has revealed about time travel and the multiverse.

Other heroes who could evade Kang's TVA could be Doctor Strange and Clea, who travel to a different universe in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness; Shang-Chi, who could be safe in the otherworldly Ta-Lo, and Scarlet Witch, who may or may not have survived the events of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Perhaps it's Loki and Ant-Man who reach out to them — and characters from different pre-MCU universes — in order to help them restore the MCU in Avengers: Secret Wars from Kang the Conqueror's actions after he escapes the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and subsequently takes over the TVA in Loki.
