Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Loki episode 4, "The Nexus Event."

MCU-newcomer, DeObia Oparei, who recently debuted as a Loki variant in the last episode of Disney+'s Loki series, tweeted his excitement to join the MCU alongside a photo of him on set. Loki is Marvel's latest original series and follows the titular God of Mischief following his brief appearance in Avengers: Endgame. Written by Michael Waldron and directed by Kate Herron, Loki has proven itself as one of Disney+'s most popular series thus far.

Loki's latest episode entitled "The Nexus Event" has unveiled several earth-shattering revelations, most notably that the mysterious Time-Keepers teased throughout the show are actually mechanical puppets of an unknown greater power. During the episode's climax, Loki is pruned by Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) who appears to want to keep the conspiracy under wraps. In signature Marvel fashion, it is revealed in a mid-credits stinger that Loki survived the pruning and is greeted by three (four, counting the helmeted crocodile) Loki variants – one of whom is played by DeObia Oparei, who is listed in the ending credits as "Boastful Loki."

Following the release of "The Nexus Event," Oparei took to Twitter to express his enthusiasm. In his tweet, Oparei posted a picture of himself in-costume on the set of the show, saying he is "Thrilled to be a part of the MCU." Check out his full tweet and picture down below:

In the mid-credits scene, Oparei's "Boastful Loki" is accompanied by three other Loki variants. Richard E. Grant plays an older Loki dressed in a comics-accurate costume, while Jack Veal plays the youthful Kid Loki. There is also a crocodile dressed in Loki's iconic headpiece, which indicates that it may also be a reptilian variant of the God of Mischief. These variants greet our Loki has he recovers from Renslayer's pruning, urging him to join them for some yet-to-be-revealed reason.

If Sylvie (Sophia di Martino) wasn't indication enough of Marvel's deep-dive into the multiverse, then this episode certainly was. The inclusion of all these Loki variants lends credence to fan theories that predict the inclusion of multiversal variants in upcoming Marvel films like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessIf these theories do indeed come to fruition, Oparei may have even more reason to be excited knowing that he played a part in the MCU's shift into a new style of storytelling. Until then, audiences have two more episodes of Loki to get their fix of these quirky new characters.
