WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Loki episode 6.

Marvel continues to break the fourth wall in the Loki finale, hinting another twist is coming. Loki episode 6 finally reveals what's been going on with the Time Variance Authority. After reaching the Citadel at the End of Time, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Lady Loki (Sophia Di Martino) discover that He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors) is the person controlling the TVA. He Who Remains is a variant of Kang the Conqueror and explains that he created the TVA to stop a Multiversal War. According to him, the TVA is the only thing stopping an infinite number of Kang variants from creating chaos in the universe. He even offers the two Loki variants the chance to run it for him.

Lady Loki doesn't buy his story. The TVA took her life away, and she thinks He Who Remains is nothing but a liar. Loki wants to take He Who Remains up on his offer, so Lady Loki transports him to another version of the TVA. Despite warnings from He Who Remains that the TVA is the only way to keep order, she kills him anyway. Almost immediately, the timelines start branching off. In deposing of the TVA's dictator, Lady Loki unleashes the Multiverse on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Loki has hinted at a strange twist throughout the series, and the finale continues that. After meeting He Who Remains, the two Loki variants join him in an elevator and take a ride to his office. While in the elevator, it appears He Who Remains breaks the fourth wall, looking directly into the camera. Fans noticed the moment (via TikTok), which seemingly mirrors other odd moments from the show. In Loki episode 3, it appears Lady Loki also breaks the fourth wall, looking into the camera while on Lamentis-1. In the Loki premiere, the God of Mischief himself, Hiddleston's Loki, seems to do it as well.

The moments may hint at something more going on in Loki. For the most part, the series operates outside of the MCU timeline, taking place in the TVA and a Void where time doesn't matter. The glances at the camera may be a way for the show to create eeriness and indicate that the characters aren't in the regular Marvel universe. Or there may be a bigger twist on the way. At the core of the series is the Big-Brother-like idea that someone is always watching over the Sacred Timeline. Perhaps someone else is watching the characters go through the events of the Loki finale, and the glances show they're all secretly aware of it.

Even if they don't indicate a twist, the glances are likely intentional. Marvel Studios is meticulous when it comes to Easter eggs, regularly inserting the tiniest references for its fervent fans. The studio goes as far as altering its trailers to keep secrets, knowing fans regularly analyze its projects frame-by-frame. Majors' glance is now the third time that the show has seemingly broken the fourth wall. If the glances in Loki are accidents, Marvel is now actively ignoring them.
