Internet celebrity Logan Paul is no stranger to the world of Pokémon. Among his most recent works have been Pokémon card unboxings and he has referenced both the trading card game and the video game series throughout his videos. Ahead of his most recent fight against Floyd Mayweather, Paul's love of Pokémon was on full display again.

Paul rose to fame after creating his Youtube channel back in 2013. While he initially started as a vlogger, he has since branched out to content that has become related to gaming. Among his most popular recent uploads are videos of him unboxing Pokémon cards, which can be worth massive sums of money. But Paul has also become active outside of the Youtube sphere. In recent years, he has taken part in many celebrity boxing matches against other internet personalities and even fighting exhibition bouts against professional boxers. His most recent bout pitted Logan Paul against the five-division champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. on June 6, 2021. Sure enough, Paul showed up bringing plenty of glamor and glitz to the proceedings, but also showing off one of his passions.

Several Twitter users including DAZN Boxing and Bleacher Report noted that Logan Paul entered the ring wearing a framed Charizard card around his neck. Reporter Darren Rovell observed that this appeared to be the same Charizard card that Paul once paid over $150,000 for. Several eagle-eyed fans responded to Rovell, saying that this appears to be a BGS 10, which is one of the rarest and most expensive Pokémon cards in the world. With only a few in circulation, some users estimated that a card like this could go for several multiples what Paul paid for it.

In recent years, Pokémon trading cards have experienced a rebirth in popularity, thanks largely to internet creators like Paul. Content like his pack opening videos have been among the reasons that Pokémon cards are now so popular that they have created massive shortages as scalpers buy up most of the available stock. This shortage has gotten so bad that some retailers and pulling the cards off their shelves or limiting the quantities that customers can purchase.

Regardless of the actual cost of the card, it seems that Logan Paul is embracing his status as one of the leaders of the recent Pokémon trading card boom. With the values of Pokémon cards skyrocketing recently, it's nice that the card seems to mean more to Paul than just its monetary value. In any case, this is one of the rare moments that gamers will see a piece of their nostalgia represented in a major sporting event.
