Defeating King Mammoth is one of the most difficult challenges in Live a Live, and the fight can even seem impossible without the right strategy. King Mammoth can be found by Pogo in the "Prehistory" chapter, and the character's smell tracking ability needs to be used in order to locate the secret boss. After the second fight with Zaki, Pogo will be able to find King Mammoth in the clearing that he's thrown in when he's initially banished.

In order to locate King Mammoth, Pogo needs to sniff for clouds in the aforementioned open area. When one of the bubbles has a mammoth symbol, players should hear a stomping sound and move toward it. King Mammoth is nearby when the screen starts to shake, so mashing the interact button while moving around should trigger the fight with this secret boss in Live a Live. However, before getting started with this very difficult fight, Pogo will need to level up quite a bit.

King Mammoth has a whopping 992 HP, can heal itself after being hit, and will dodge most of Pogo's attacks. Since the boss can heal, it's important to win the fight as quickly as possible, otherwise, it becomes very difficult to inflict any lasting damage. To prepare for the fight, players will need to do a lot of grinding until Pogo reaches at least level 16 in Live a Live. Once Pogo reaches level 16, the Bing Bang Boom ability will be unlocked, and it can help in the fight against King Mammoth. Crafting a Fertility Charm and farming for Huge Haunches of Meat can also be helpful because they can be used to heal throughout the fight.

Tips & Strategies For Defeating King Mammoth In Live A Live

Live A Live How to Find & Kill King Mammoth Secret Boss Mount Big Boom

Although the fight against King Mammoth is challenging, there are a few simple strategic moves that can be implemented to defeat the boss. The first step for defeating King Mammoth is tactically positioning the playable characters in Live a Live. Pogo and Gori should both be in front of King Mammoth, and keeping the boss in the top left corner will limit its healing abilities. As soon as the fight starts, Pogo needs to spam Poke Bind to attempt to inflict the paralysis status effect.

Gori needs to continuously use the Fertility Charm and Huge Haunches of Meat for healing, unless King Mammoth creates fire tiles. Whenever there are fire tiles underneath King Mammoth, the boss will regenerate health. Gori can use Poop Throw to turn them into poison tiles. This will offset the healing issue in this fight and inflict a small amount of damage.

When the paralysis status effect is triggered, Pogo can use Bing Bang Boom to drain a massive amount of health. Dropping King Mammoth below half health will trigger the second phase of the fight. King Mammoth will use Mount Big Boom to make every tile in the arena a fire tile that heals it. Initially, King Mammoth heals for 200 HP, and an additional 70 HP every few turns. Once again, Gori needs to use Poop Throw to change the fire tiles, then go back to healing while Pogo spams Poke Bind to inflict paralysis. After successfully paralyzing King Mammoth again, Pogo can use Bing Bang Boom, and it should be enough to defeat the secret boss.

Since successfully causing paralysis is up to chance, and King Mammoth's attacks are random, it may take a few tries to win the fight. After Live a Live's secret boss in the "Prehistory" chapter is defeated, players will receive the Fang of the King, which grants +20 Physical Attack. There's also a chance that a Cola Bottle will drop, but King Mammoth may need to be defeated multiple times to obtain it. The Cola Bottle can be used to perform a powerful attack that hits 10 times, and it also increases speed by +30. King Mammoth is one of the hardest bosses in Live a Live, but the rewards are worthwhile for those willing to take on the challenge.
