Little People Big World fans were surprised to hear Matt reveal his reason for wanting a divorce from Amy. The couple was married almost 30 years when the two decided to call it quits.
The Roloff family has been welcomed into viewers' homes via small screens for over 20 Little People Big World seasons, and fans are still enjoying watching their family dynamic, even though it is changing. All four of the couple’s children have married their significant others and the older twins, Jeremy and Zach, both have small children. Fans watched Matt and Amy Roloff go through a rough end to their marriage, with Amy believing that Matt was close to Caryn Chandler before the breakup. Matt and Amy have since divorced but are still trying to figure out the logistics of the farm for the sake of their children. While the couple officially ended their relationship in 2016, they are still having to deal with running into one another on the family farm, since they both own the property. Fans of the TLC show always knew that Matt felt Amy was a "committed-to-a-fault" type of personality, while he always tried his best to maintain a flexible approach.
While the whole divorce was not a surprise to most, Amy’s revelation that Caryn had sent inappropriate photos and texts before the couple broke up shook many to their cores. In a recent episode of Little People Big World, Matt made it very clear that he wanted Amy to finalize moving off the Roloff farm since she had already purchased her new house. The mother of four was having issues cleaning out the farmhouse since it was stacked with junk (and memories). Amy explained to the cameras that she was doing her best, but that wasn't enough to please Matt, with his hustle and bustle personality. As per CheatSheet, at one point, there was a frank and tense discussion, as Matt told his ex-wife that he was not at all surprised that she was not “focused” on the task at hand. He said, “I’m just surprised you’re not focused on that more, but you’re just over here every day taking a two-day process into a six-month process.” While Amy tried to defend herself, Matt stuck the knife in with this remark: “That’s why we’re not married anymore. We move at very different paces.”
The two Little People Big World stars have not held back when it comes to sharing their thoughts and feelings. At times, fans find their altercations uncomfortable. Emotions can run very high with this former couple.
It is admirable that Matt and Amy want to have a decent relationship, to ensure that their children are ok, but the move off the Roloff farm is a long time coming and will be good for all parties involved.
