Jeremy Roloff from Little People, Big World has recently come under fire on social media for posts showcasing his family’s new Christmas tree. Despite not appearing on the show presently, Jeremy and his wife, Audrey Roloff, keep a quite constant social media presence. Jeremy’s fans and detractors were vocal across multiple social media platforms about his new tree.

On November 28 and 29, Jeremy's Instagram chronicled the process of bringing a 16-foot tree into his home for the Christmas season. The saga came in four reels. Almost immediately, Jeremy was met with backlash on Reddit. On Reddit, user SerenaJWilliams posted a screenshot of the tree being hoisted by a tractor. The caption reads, “More relatable content from Jerm. Using the $50k @Kubotausa tractor to offload a Christmas tree.” The Roloffs often receive heat for fan-asserted tackiness. As such, commenters were quick to pile onto the purported melodrama of the former LPBW stars. One comment read, “Oh for pete's sake just drag it to your door like normal people and quit trying to show off your stupid toy.” Another put forward, “They make everything so much more difficult than it has to be.”

In another post, the same Redditor came at Jeremy again, simply for his grammar. In the first Instagram reel, Jeremy captioned the reel with text reading, “Late night in the shop figure if out how to get this tree safely stood up.” The Redditor posted a screenshot of this text overlay with the simple caption, “Wut?” This grammatical mishap presented another opportunity to pile onto Jeremy, with one commenter posting, “I felt like I was having a stroke reading his caption.”

Typically, LPBW fans can’t stand Jeremy Roloff, and will find any reason to criticize him. Such is the risk of being in the limelight, even for just 15 minutes of fame. For Jeremy, his public presence is really a lose-lose situation, as no matter what he does, he’ll likely receive pushback for it. One commenter on Reddit pointed out the hypocrisy of the LPBW fanbase, saying, “I don’t get peoples obsession with Audrey and Jeremy not being ‘relatable’. When she posts normal stuff people are like ‘does she want an award for being a mom?’” No matter what the Roloff couple posts, whether impossibly lavish or mundanely ordinary, they will receive criticism. Fans have always struggled with Jeremy and Audrey’s sincerity, both on and off LPBW.

That being said, Jeremy and Audrey do have backers in their corner. The majority of comments on the original Instagram posts have been positive. One user wrote, “I love this!!! Ok I’m fully invested & HAVE to see part 2.” Another said to Jeremy, “You have your dads ambition.” The reels themselves harbor tens of thousands of likes, and the Roloffs are likely to reach a larger audience because of their reality TV stint. Many Instagram commenters voice adoration for the couple, their children, and the Roloff family's $1.5 million farm.

As with any popular reality show, Little People, Big World presents heroes to root for, villains to despise, and sometimes a gray area in between. Though the Roloffs may hope to distance themselves from the television screen, they can’t escape fan scrutiny as easily as they might hope. A simple task like Jeremy buying a Christmas tree can unexpectedly set fans off.
