Lindsay Lohan is certainly getting her glam back in these new images from the Lifetime Original Movie Liz & Dick. Lohan sports Elizabeth Taylor’s hallmark jet-black bob haircut, cherry lips and timeless red evening gown for her depiction of the classic film legend in the upcoming TV biopic.
Accompanying LiLo’s glitzy new snap-shot -- in which she is nearly unrecognizable -- is a simple yet stylish photo of her co-star, Grant Bowler (True Blood), in his depiction of Taylor’s on-again, off-again paramour, Richard Burton. The photos were taken earlier this week at Lifetime Studios.

Liz & Dick catalogs the steamy decades-long on-and-off romance of screen legends Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton after their fateful meeting on the set of the Cleopatra. The two movie icons' turbulent relationship was rarely out of the media eye as they divorced, remarried, and divorced once again (for the last time) in July 1976. Despite Taylor and Burton’s tempestuous and public love affair, the two were still considered Hollywood royalty and shared a fiery passion that is talked about to this day.
Said Lohan in a statement:
“I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.”
Along with Lohan and Bowler, the upcoming TV movie will feature the acting talent of David Hunt (24), Tanya Franks (EastEnders) and Massi Furlan (General Hospital) and is written by Christopher Monger (Temple Grandin), with Larry A. Thompson (Amish Grace,) of Larry A. Thompson Productions, Inc. executive producing.
In addition to the official first look photos, several paparazzi shots of Lohan and her co-star on set that have hit the internet. TMZ posted some set pictures of Lohan and Bowler on a yacht in what seemed to be a heated scene - and the site also reported that Lohan opted not to wear a wig in the film, but instead had her real hair cut, colored and styled to mimic Taylor’s signature look.
This film could play a big role in Lindsay Lohan’s apparent "comeback." Lohan seems to be putting the focus back on her career – even appearing as herself on an episode of Fox’s musical dramedy Glee. Her portrayal of Taylor is particularly interesting as both actresses have have had very public struggles with booze. Maybe Lohan can follow Elizabeth Taylor's off-screen lead and stick to soda from here on out.
