Lindsay Lohan insists her short-lived MTV reality show, Beach Club, hasn't been canceled, but that she's walking away from the series. It also appears her beach club in Mykonos, Greece is no longer open. Fans will be sad to see the series end after just one season.

Premiering January 8, 2019, Beach Club is a Vanderpump Rules-esque show that follows Lohan and her business partner Panos Spentzos as they run Lohan Beach Club in Mykonos. The series mainly focuses on the lives of their young, attractive employees. Unfortunately, Lohan's reality TV debut wasn't a hit - as the show was met with negative reviews and low ratings. However, despite signs the series wasn't going to last, Lohan is insisting that it's her decision to end it.

A source revealed to The Blast that Beach Club is ending because Lohan refuses to manufacture drama for the producers. Additionally, it sounds as though the cancellation was also due to the fact that she chose not to involve her close family members, including her mom Dina, sister Ali, and brothers Michael Jr. and Dakota - who could have been sources of drama and b-storylines. The actress says her life is "drama-free" lately and she'd like to keep it that way.

“There was a renewal idea that producers hoped would perk it up for a second season,” a source close to production previously told Page Six“It would be turned into a show about Lindsay and [her mother] Dina and [sister] Ali, [but] that wasn’t going to happen.” They added the show didn't have “enough drama,” and that her producers wanted more breakdowns and memorable moments. However, the source said, "That’s not where [Lohan] is at with her life anymore. Their personal business doesn’t need to be aired on television; it’s already in the papers anyway.”

Lohan also reportedly wanted to begin filming at her new beach club in Athens, Lohan Seaside, which she plans to open this summer, but MTV decided against the idea. According to the source, she decided to quit the show to focus on opening her other club locations: Lalyssos Beach and in Rhodes, as well as her other business ventures.

According to reports, Lohan's Mykonos beach club no longer exists at all. Photos taken by TMZ, show that the club is nothing more than a skeleton of what it once was and the sign has been removed. Per a review on TripAdvisor, one visitor wrote: "LOHAN BEACH HOUSE IS A PILE OF ROCKS.” Currently, the website for the Mykonos club directs to a message that reads: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming you at our new all-day summer project ‘Lohan Seaside’ beach bar, restaurant and the best thematic parties,” along with the new club’s contact information.

As it turns out, not everyone is sad to see Beach Club come to an end. Former employee Kailah Casillas, in which who fans watched Lohan fire in season 1 and who later accused the actress and entrepreneur of being on drugs, reacted to the news on Twitter. She wrote: "That’s weird because from what I heard she was begging producers for a second season & made sure to 'invite' specific people back for the second" under a headline about Lohan choosing not to move forward with Beach Club.

Lohan herself hasn't publicly responded to reports of the reasoning behind the cancellation, but her rep confirmed to Page Six that it is final and Lohan "is not doing another season."

As for whether or not the show will return in one form or another, fans will just have to wait and see if Lohan reinvents the series down the line - or steps into another round of personal drama that producers can capitalize on.
