Chris Hemsworth attempts multiple life-threatening stunts in the new trailer for National Geographic's Limitless with Chris Hemsworth. The actor shot to megastar status when he entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe by playing the title role in 2011's Thor and has also become famous for maintaining an enviable physique. Since then, Hemsworth has continued to push his fitness limits in training for Thor and even founded his own fitness app Centr.

It seems playing non-aging demigod in movies hasn't quite quenched the performer's thirst for adventure. In 2020, Disney+ announced it would be the home to Hemsworth's docuseries from National Geographic, Limitless with Chris Hemsworth. The series aims to answer the question: What if you could combat aging and discover the full potential of the human body? Created by prolific director Darren Aronofsky, the show will use Hemsworth to put new scientific research about the human body to the test.

Disney+ and National Geographic delighted fans by releasing a trailer for Limitless in honor of Disney+ Day. Showcasing snippets of Hemsworth tackling life-threatening and gravity-defying stunts, the heart-pumping video shows the actor pushing his limits further than ever before. Check out the full official trailer below:

The trailer opens on Hemsworth hanging high off the ground from a gondola lift. "You're probably asking yourself why I'm dangling off a rope a thousand feet off the ground," he says. "I'm asking the same question." From there, the trailer teases the Marvel icon participating in various other extreme challenges, including an ice plunge, skyscraper walk, and scuba adventure. Hemsworth sets the scene, saying in a voiceover that he's "getting older now" and doesn't "feel invincible."

Hemsworth goes on to say that he wants to push himself to the extreme and live as long as he possibly can. According to Nat Geo, the series features six extraordinary challenges that beckon Hemsworth to step up and transform his body. Every episode will focus on a different way to live better with topics like regenerating damage, maximizing strength, building resilience, shocking the body, supercharging memory, and confronting mortality.

It seems the action star wants to be more like his hammer-wielding MCU persona. While the muscle-builder has a stuntman on hand for the Thor franchise and other Marvel appearances, the National Geographic series is all him. Though fans may just tune in to get their Hemsworth fix, the show also aims to give viewers tangible ways to improve their own health. If the series is successful, Hemsworth will help provide the world with scientific answers to life-threatening questions. Sounds like he has the potential to be a real-life superhero. Limitless with Chris Hemsworth arrives on Disney+ in 2022.
