Pixar's Lightyear introduces Chris Evans' Buzz and new art mashes up the actor's animated character with his Knives Out villain. The iconic Space Ranger was first brought to life by Tim Allen in 1995's Toy Story as the astronaut action figure who forms an unlikely relationship with an old-fashioned pull-string cowboy doll named Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks). The success of this film and the equally beloved 1999 sequel led to a spin-off series, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, which saw Patrick Warburton taking over lead voicing duties.
Now, Chris Evans will be the next actor to voice the character in Lightyear, which appears to be a full-fledged origin story for the human astronaut who inspired the action figure that appears in the Toy Story movies. From Disney and Pixar, the upcoming film will follow Buzz Lightyear during his early days as a Space Ranger in Star Command. The project was first unveiled at last year's Disney Investor Day along with Evans voicing the titular role.
Now that the first trailer for Lightyear has been released and is making waves online, famed internet artist Boss Logic took the opportunity to drop a new piece which unexpectedly puts Buzz Lightyear's head onto the body of Chris Evans' character from Knives Out - the memorable Ransom Drysdale - who is sporting one of his signature sweaters. There is also a sprinkle of his Marvel character in there as well, as he appears to be holding a tiny Mjolnir between his fingers. Check out the fan art below:

Other than Captain America, Evans' role in Rian Johnson's 2019 murder mystery is probably his most memorable. In the film, Evans demonstrates his impeccable range as the obnoxiously spoiled playboy, Ransom Drysdale, a far-cry from his strait-laced Marvel character. Ransom actually turns out to be the film's primary antagonist after it is revealed that he conspired to kill the family patriarch, Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer), out of anger for cutting him out of his inheritance.
In Lightyear, Evans is set to demonstrate his range once again with more family-friendly fare. Marvel fans seem to be enjoying how the trailer continues a running Captain America gag from The Avengers, so perhaps Lightyear could reference a few other Chris Evans' characters as well, such as the eccentric Ransom Drysdale. Now that the first teaser trailer has been released, expect more Lightyear-inspired fan art from now until the animated film releases in theaters on June 17, 2022.
