Life is Strange: True Colors is still months away, but Square Enix has already introduced fans to some of the game's cast. Over the weekend, the publisher shared trailers to introduce the main character Alex, as well as supporting character Steph. Longtime Life is Strange fans may even recognize Steph from another installment.

For those who are unfamiliar, the Life is Strange franchise follows various young characters with supernatural abilities. Each game tells its own moving story as players use their unexplained powers to solve mysteries and survive. Every choice a player makes will affect the outcome of the plot and the relationships that they form with other characters. Square Enix revealed Life is Strange: True Colors last month as the story of a former foster care young adult who can feel and see other people's strongest emotions in vivid color. After moving to Colorado to be with her brother, Alex Chen must wield her abilities as an empath to solve the case of her brother's mysterious death.

A series of trailers have already given fans a sneak peek at the town of Haven Springs, Colorado and its characters ahead of Life is Strange: True Colors' release in September. In the first trailer, viewers meet 21-year-old Alex, who spent eight years in an Oregon foster care group home. She heads to Haven Springs to stay with her estranged brother Gabe to start a new, normal life. The trailer describes Alex as "sharp, witty, hardened, highly observant," and, thanks to her power, "sensitive to the needs of others." Although Alex is a friendly and social person, she often isolates herself to avoid absorbing strong emotions from those around her. Unfortunately, she'll have to overcome this obstacle to discover the truth of Gabe's fatal accident.

The second trailer introduces a Haven Springs resident named Steph. Fans of the Life is Strange 1 prequel Before The Storm may recall Steph from her days as main character Chloe's high school classmate in Arcadia Bay. Steph moved from Arcadia Bay to Seattle for college and then to Haven Springs to pursue an opportunity with a punk band. Now, she's a manager and a radio DJ at Haven Springs' local music shop. In her free time, she loves to participate in Live-Action Role-Playing (LARP) games. "Whatever Steph does, she's always a creative force of nature," the narrator revealed.

These introductory trailers and Alex's opening scene have set the stage for fans to dive right into the gameplay and what will no doubt be a touching journey. Life is Strange: True Colors is already looking to be an incredible story in a beautifully designed small town. We already can't wait to see what Haven Springs has to offer.
