Hulu has renewed Amy Schumer’s comedy-drama series Life & Beth for season 2. The semi-autobiographical series follows the stand-up comedian as Beth, a wine distributor in a long-term relationship with her successful boyfriend Matt (Kevin Kane). However, after an unexpected incident, Beth is confronted with flashbacks to her teen self (played by Violet Young), forcing her to reexamine her past. Produced by Endeavor Content, the heartfelt series also co-stars Michael Cera, who portrays Beth’s love interest, inspired by Schumer’s real-life husband, Chris Fischer.

Now, Hulu has announced the renewal of Life & Beth for season 2. Written, directed, and executive produced by Schumer, the forthcoming sophomore season will feature 10 episodes. Following the first season's debut on March 18, the series was declared one of the top-performing original comedies on the subscription service platform in 2022, joining the ranks of other Hulu original comedy series like Only Murders in the Building, The Great, and Woke.

The dramedy has continued to receive critical praise and currently holds a certified fresh rating of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. The series was heavily inspired by Schumer’s personal journey and life, from the parallels of her own complicated relationship with her mother to the series’ penultimate episode seeing Schumer’s decision to depict and reveal her struggle with trichotillomania, a condition that results in repetitive hair-pulling and hair loss. For now, further details of the upcoming season of Life & Beth have yet to be disclosed, but audiences can expect to see the comedian’s return to scripted television again soon.
