Lacey Whitlow is still going back and forth between her husband Shane Whitlow and off-and-on ex-boyfriend John Slater on Life After Lockup. She recently admitted to hooking up with John behind Shane's back, which is just the latest in a long history of Lacey and Shane cheating during her marriage. Overall, Lacey continues to toy between being faithful to Shane and leading John on.
Since Lacey's inception on Love After Lockup, she has been painted as a villain due to her seemingly conniving ways. She started the show as John's fiancée while maintaining a long-distance relationship with him as he served out his time in prison. John was also under the impression that Lacey's youngest child at the time was his. Unbeknownst to John, however, Lacey was carrying on another relationship with an entirely different inmate named Shane. Once Shane was released before John, Lacey wasted no time shacking up with Shane and falling for him. Upon John's release, he was blindsided to learn that Lacey betrayed his trust. She also revealed that he wasn't the father of her daughter.
Lacey moved on with Shane and the two promptly got married. But after Shane admitted to cheating on Lacey, she decided to get her own revenge by going back to John. This resulted in a huge blowup where John and Shane were seen getting into a heated exchange. John wanted Shane to leave, but Shane wanted Lacey back. Lacey looked like she almost enjoyed seeing the two men fighting over her. In the end, however, Lacey ended up playing John and leaving him for Shane once again. Not only that, but John was also convinced that Lacey had him put back in jail. While he was incarcerated again, Lacey ended up getting pregnant by Shane through IVF. Lacey and Shane welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Summer.
By season 4, Lacey started to feel like Shane was acting differently. Specifically, she was suspicious of his behavior because of all the time he spent at the gym. To get her questions answered, Lacey forced Shane to take a lie detector test. When Shane's results showed signs of deception, Lacey was upset and turned to John. While John claimed he had no interest in spending time with Lacey because of his new relationship, it turns out that was a lie. Lacey recently admitted to Shane that she ended up hanging out with John and hooking up with him "all night long."
Now, Lacey and Shane are working to repair their extremely damaged marriage while viewers bash Lacey and call her a cheater. Many viewers think she has only used Shane for her own desires while being actually in love with John. Despite being married to Shane, Lacey continues to reach out to John and keep him close by whenever Shane upsets her. Life After Lockup fans thinks Shane deserves better. Alas, when considering the lies and cheating he has also taken part in, there's no real angel in their marriage. Maybe Lacey will be faithful to Shane this time around, or she will maintain her love triangle with her husband and ex-boyfriend.
