In an exclusive clip for the next episode of the four-part special Life After Lockup season 3 event, Tony tries to convince Angela that he's a changed man. After a tense exchange about their rocky marriage, Angela reveals that she never filed the marriage license and the two aren't even legally married. The new episode "Up in Flames" will air on September 18.

From the beginning, Tony and Angela's Love After Lockup relationship has been fraught with trust issues, cheating, and clashing. It looks like this fight might be the last straw for Angela. In the clip, Tony tries to smooth things over with her. starting the conversation calmly. "I don't know what to say...I'm sorry," he said. Angela's patience is clearly running thin, though. She lights up a cigarette and fires back at him with, "Don't you want more out of life than hotel rooms, prostitutes...it's almost like you're more in love with your addiction than you're in love with yourself or with me."

Tony tells Angela that he's a new man who has learned his lesson. Angela yells back at him, "What the hell has changed?" He explains that he's been sitting in a hotel room by himself for the last four months, apparently regretting his infidelity. While Angela insists, "I don't believe you, and I don't think I ever will," Tony makes another desperate attempt to fix the relationship. Being away from her, he explains, "was way worse than prison." "I had to lose you to realize what a piece of s**t I was, and when I lost the best thing that had ever happened to me, I've really really got my head on straight," he added. Those sentiments didn't seem to mean much to (supposed) wife, Angela. At the end of the clip, she drops a bombshell. Angela divulges that she never filed the marriage license and admits "we're not even officially married." Watch the WeTV clip below:

Tony and Angela had a tumultuous relationship from the start. Angela, a mental health counselor, admits to having an affinity for prisoners and found Tony (10 years her junior) through a Facebook page called Prison Inmate Penpals World International. After developing an online relationship, the couple planned to meet up when Tony got released. Angela, however, ended up waiting outside of a bus stop when he never left the prison as expected. Though they went through lots of Love After Lockup trials and tribulations, the two decided to tie the knot in fall 2019.

The unpredictability of Tony and Angela's relationship means that their Love After Lockup romance could go in any direction. It's not surprising that the pair are butting heads, but it will be interesting to see whether Angela has truly had enough this time. Perhaps she had a feeling that the marriage wouldn't last and this kept her from filing the marriage license. They've spent years working on their relationship, so hopefully Tony really has changed for the better.
