The original cast of Leverage is back together for the show’s reboot series. Leverage came out in 2008 as a comedy/drama about reformed criminals who used their skills to right the wrongs of governments and corporations to help ordinary citizens. The show lasted for five seasons, and when the show ended in December 2012, millions of viewers tuned in to witness its finale. Ever since fans have been begging for the show and its beloved characters to come back, and it looks they are finally getting their wish.

The Leverage reboot is IMDb TV’s first original major series and started its production on August 4. Dean Devlin will serve as the show’s executive producer with John Rogers and Chris Downey serving as consulting producers. Noah Wyle, from Falling Skies and The Librarians, will also be joining the team as a new character within Leverage and will also be directing thirteen of the show’s episodes. The show will maintain its original concept while introducing new stories that are sure to keep the audience entertained.

Devlin and Beth Riesgraf have released photos of the Leverage reboot set that brings together the original cast members. Riesgraf's photo shows the actors in a table read while Devlin's shows a picture of Riesgraf, Christian Kane, and Gina Bellman wearing masks while on set. Bellman and Kane also shared their own pictures of the cast on set of Leverage, all of which can be seen below:

News that the Leverage reboot would reunite the original cast is sure to please long-time fans of the series. The popularity of Leverage was largely due to the actors’ chemistry and the relationships they portrayed on the show. While new actors could step in to take over the roles, it would not feel the same to the audience. In fact, most fans would feel slighted had the reboot decided to recast the characters they've been waiting years to see back on the screen.

The Leverage reboot has the potential to be as fascinating and fun as the original series. Fans will no doubt be thrilled to see the cast hard at work at bringing Leverage back, but it's also reassuring that they still seem to be practicing social distancing while working on the show as well. Many productions have been shut down due to COVID-19, but thankfully it looks like the cast of Leverage is still able to work on their series for the time being.
