What Leonardo DiCaprio Could Look Like as Stan Lee

Leonardo DiCaprio

Fan art legend BossLogic has offered some insight into what Leonardo DiCaprio would look like as Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee. This exciting image comes hot on the heels of the news that DiCaprio wishes to star in a biopic about Lee, according to Lee himself. This in turn begs the question: would The Wolf of Wall Street be able to comfortably morph into The King of Comics and Cameos on the big screen?

Lee himself broke the news, revealing to fans at Wizard World Nashville that DiCaprio (coming off his Best Actor Oscar win for The Revenant) is interested in “Doing a movie of my life, with him playing me." The godfather of modern comics apparently told Leo, jokingly, “I’m not sure you’re good-looking enough.”

Jokes aside, this sounds like one of those perfect projects where actor and subject matter match up masterfully. It’s easy to imagine DiCaprio oozing the cheeky charm of Lee and fans around the globe would love to have a greater understanding of the trials and tribulations that Lee went through to get to where he is today. Thanks to BossLogic's Twitter feed, it’s pretty clear that Leo looks the part. With the right shades and the optimal facial hair, he could definitely pass as a younger Stan Lee:

The project seems to have Lee’s blessing, given his light-hearted and good-spirited comments at the Wizard World Nashville event. With any luck, then, a project will actually come out of this discussion, with DiCaprio set to lead the way playing Stan Lee. In the meantime, here’s a fun thing to ponder: would Lee make a cameo in a movie about himself? Surely, he wouldn’t pass up the opportunity.

In addition to being very loosely linked to the role of Marvel’s most famous writer, there's been talk of late about the idea of DiCaprio playing DC Comics’ Clown Prince of Crime, the Joker. His regular collaborator Martin Scorsese is producing a Joker origin movie for DC and DiCaprio is said to be the 'dream pick' to star in the film. (Boss Logic has mocked up a DiCaprio-Joker image, too.) For the time being, however, neither of these prospective DiCaprio projects are anywhere near to actually happening.

In the meantime, though, fans can look forward to more of the real Stan Lee's onscreen cameo appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with Thor: Ragnarok in November. Excelsior!
