Lenovo is yet to release a successor to its Chromebook Duet, but its latest device, the Lenovo 10w Tablet, is for those wanting a Windows version of the popular tablet. Following the Windows on ARM partnership between Microsoft and Qualcomm, more manufacturers are now willing to launch Windows tablets or 2-in-1s, and incredible battery life is one of the key advantages that computers powered by ARM chips have.

Considering the partnership was first announced back in 2016, there are not a lot of Windows on ARM laptops at the moment. The available ones are also powered by Qualcomm chipsets due to an exclusive deal between the semiconductor company and Microsoft. However, that may change in the near future as the contract is expected to end soon, thus opening the arena to more players. MediaTek has already expressed interest in working with Microsoft to make Windows on ARM computers powered by its chipsets.

The Lenovo 10w is targeted at the classroom, particularly younger students, and this is evident in the design. The device comes in Abyss Blue with red accents for the camera and garaged pen. The display is protected by a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass and there is a ruggedized rubber bumper that should help it survive student life. The detachable keyboard has anti-pry keys and is spill-resistant up to 360ml, meaning it can survive accidental spills at the cafeteria or light rain. The device is not too heavy weighing 1.26 lbs (573 grams) and up to 2.43 lbs (1.1 kilograms) with the keyboard. Speaking of which, the keyboard is different from the one that ships with the Lenovo Chromebook Duet as it has a 180-degree hinge, eliminating the need for a kickstand on the tablet.

The Lenovo 10w Tablet has a 10.1-inch FHD IPS touch display surrounded by thick bezels with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a brightness level of 400 nits. The processor is the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 and this is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of eMMC storage. The webcam is a 2MP FHD camera with a privacy shutter, and there is an 8MP sensor on the back. The tablet also has a USB-C port, a microphone and headphone combo jack, stereo speakers, and Bluetooth 5.1 support.

The battery life is stated to be 13.7 hours which should last the whole school day. The Lenovo 10w Tablet will be available in April 2022 and is due to go on sale priced at $329 with the keyboard in the box. Lenovo's new tablet is more expensive than the $249 Surface Laptop SE, and Microsoft's device does come with a larger 11.6-inch screen, an Intel Celeron processor, 4GB/8GB of RAM, 64GB/128GB of storage, a 1MP webcam, and a 16-hour battery life.
