A side quest to unlock Yaddle as a playable character in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga may have surprised some players when the Jedi Master didn't speak in the same disjointed manner as Yoda. The two are members of the same mysterious species - two of only three ever seen in Star Wars - but apparently Yoda's penchant for anastrophe is a personal quirk. Yaddle sits on the Jedi Council during some key scenes in the prequel trilogy, but never has any voiced lines, but there is precedent for her speaking in grammatically ordered Galactic Basic.

According to what is now referred to as Legends canon (previously known as the Star Wars Extended Universe before Disney's buyout of Lucasfilm), Yaddle had the same speech pattern as Yoda. The new canon has already expanded on Yoda, including his exploits during the High Republic, but Yaddle's history remains relatively unknown. In fact, the side quest given to the player in LEGO Skywalker Saga is one of the most robust looks at Yaddle in the new canon, even though it still does little to explore the Jedi Master as a character.

Despite Yaddle still remaining on the periphery when it comes to Star Wars characters, a novel published in 2021 canonizes her speaking in the same manner as much of the rest of the galaxy. In The High Republic: Out of the Shadows, one of the main characters briefly runs into Yaddle in the halls of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where she offers some reassuring advice - "Do not reject your instincts, Jedi." Although LEGO Skywalker Saga's hub worlds can break canon, this is exactly where the player encounters Yaddle too, in the halls of the Jedi Temple.

LEGO Skywalker Saga's Yaddle Makes Yoda More Confusing

Yaddle speaking in more common sentence structures in LEGO Star Wars only makes Yoda's mannerisms more confusing

It's tough to consider LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga as an entry in the franchise that definitively establishes canon, but alongside Yaddle's depiction in Out of the Shadows, it would seem that Yoda's mannerisms may be an outlier in even his own species. With Legends canon Yaddle, it was easy to assume that all members of that species - generally referred to as just "Yoda's species" - spoke like Yoda. Now it would seem that Yoda is truly an anomaly amongst speakers of Galactic Basic, since Yaddle rather plainly tells the player to seek out a Krayt Dragon on Tatooine in LEGO Skywalker Saga.

Final judgment on the typical speech patterns of Yoda and Yaddle's species may have to wait until Grogu has grown old enough to talk. The deuteragonist of The Mandalorian is one of the DLC Star Wars characters for LEGO Skywalker Saga (though just a companion to Mando) and is currently still considered very young at an age somewhere around 50. It seems more likely that Grogu will end up speaking like Yaddle, since he is growing up around others who use more common sentence structures. Regardless of how the mysterious species is meant to communicate, it would seem that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga at least confirms that Yaddle does not share Yoda's odd speech patterns, which has canonical precedent.
