TT Games' latest LEGO title, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, is massive in scale and features a number of trophies that PlayStation owners may have to spend a lot of time in order to acquire. That's little surprise, given that The Skywalker Saga covers all nine main Star Wars films and includes a roster of nearly 300 playable characters. Add in hundreds of collectible Kyber Bricks, 23 unique planets to explore, and over 10 billion studs to gather, and players should have no shortage of things to do across the galaxy. This goes double for any prospective platinum trophy hunters playing the new LEGO Star Wars, a feat that will require them to collect the 40 or so other PSN trophies the game has to offer.
First announced in 2019, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was initially meant to launch sometime after Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker premiered in December of that year. Within a few months, the release date was officially confirmed as October 2020, but by the Summer of 2020, it had been pushed back into the Spring of 2021. The LEGO Skywalker Saga's difficulties would only continue from there, and in April 2021, it was delayed yet again. Fortunately, the most recent launch projection - Spring 2022 - proved to be accurate, and on April 5, the new LEGO Star Wars saga made its long-awaited release. The game isn't fully finished yet, though, with a couple more DLC character packs coming out over the next month or so.
By far the most ambitious game in the LEGO lineup, The Skywalker Saga emphasizes the exploration of its vast planetside areas as well as the space around them, which has led to many collectible-based trophies. It also allows access to these levels in free play mode, encouraging players to keep coming back, whether it's to simply wreak havoc as is standard for LEGO video games or to collect items that can't be gathered on the first playthrough of a level. Though perhaps tempting for completionist players, the latter goal is no small feat. Thousands of collectible items are scattered throughout LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and each one contributes to the game's platinum trophy.
LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga's Kyber Bricks Are New Collectibles
LEGO games having random collectibles scattered throughout their levels isn't anything new, but even fans of the original LEGO Star Wars games might be surprised by just how much there is to find in The Skywalker Saga. Perhaps the most expected addition is that of Minikits. These mementos appear in almost every previous LEGO video game. In other installments, there have been ten or so Minikit Canisters per level. When a collection is complete, the Minikits can be assembled into more significant artifacts or vehicles of some sort, and players receive a large stud bonus. As has been the case with other LEGO titles, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has a PSN trophy for collecting every Minikit in the game.
On top of that, there are a few new items that players should keep an eye out for as they progress through the game's many levels. Datacards serve as the equivalent of red bricks in previous LEGO games, allowing players to unlock unique in-game extras. Like with Minikits, there's a PSN trophy available for collecting all of them. There's also Kyber Bricks, a rare currency of sorts that can be used to unlock some of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga's characters, upgrade character classes - another achievement is available for fully upgrading all of these - and earn the corresponding PSN trophy. A total of 1000 Kyber Bricks must be gathered to do so.
Collecting 10 Billion Studs In LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga
Studs serve as the primary form of currency in all LEGO games. They can be collected in various ways, from destroying enemies and parts of the environment to completing certain tasks. Stud collecting can seem grueling at first, but it's necessary, not just because they're needed to buy new LEGO Star Wars characters and upgrades but because one of The Skywalker Saga's trophies requires players to collect a whopping 10 billion of them. Fortunately, there are a few ways to make the process easier, and the most essential of these methods is the use of stud multipliers.
There are five total stud multipliers in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, ranging from 2x to 10x, and each one increases the value of any collected stud by the respective amount. The price to unlock each multiplier varies just as much, with the lowest tier costing 1 million studs and the highest totaling nearly half a billion. As expensive as they are, LEGO Star Wars' stud multiplying abilities are arguably the best early investment a player can make in The Skywalker Saga, especially if they're looking to nab the 10 billion stud PSN trophy. Another worthwhile tool is the collectible detector, which can help players scout out rare items they might otherwise overlook and consequently miss entirely.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - How To Earn True Jedi
In the eyes of many LEGO Star Wars players, the True Jedi title goes hand in hand with other milestones like earning 10 billion studs. The status can only be achieved once the player - or both players combined, in a multiplayer setting - passes a certain threshold of studs collected. This can be achieved individually across every level found across LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga's planets, and it has to be for those looking to earn the corresponding PSN trophy. Along with successfully finishing all of the level challenges offered in The Skywalker Saga, the goal of claiming True Jedi is another good reason for players to return to previously played-through levels in an attempt to 100% complete the game.
How Many Characters Are In LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Although LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, unfortunately, doesn't contain character customization, it makes up for it by having a hefty amount of playable characters to gather and choose from. There are quite a few PSN trophies that involve utilizing multiple characters in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga as a result, such as fully upgrading LEGO Skywalker Saga's new character classes or creating 25 disguises as a Hero character. There's even a reward for starting a five-person Cantina fight using Jedi Mind Tricks. The most daunting challenge is collecting every character across The Skywalker Saga's impressive roster, which can be expanded even further with the addition of DLC centered around other iconic Star Wars media like Rogue One and The Mandalorian.
There's no shortage of other tricky trophies to acquire, such as those that require players to complete every event, race, or challenge around the galaxy. On the flip side, some more minor challenges might be easy to skip over, such as riding every possible creature and Star Wars vehicle in The Skywalker Saga or shooting the helmet off 50 different enemies. Others may require precise timing, like killing three opponents simultaneously using an explosion. In either case, it appears as though the developers haven't made it easy to earn the platinum trophy in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. This at least means that fans who have been anticipating the game for years won't have any shortage of challenges to spend their time on.
