Players who complete the story mode in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga can summon the infamous Death Star to any planet in the game’s galaxy map. Traveller’s Tales’ latest LEGO game finally launched today, allowing fans to play through plastic toy-filled retellings of all nine mainline Star Wars films. The Skywalker Saga has a massive roster of 300 playable characters and is one of the largest and most ambitious LEGO games to date, featuring a massive roster of 300 playable characters, revamped combat gameplay, and an overworld map that lets players freely explore LEGO’s take on the Star Wars galaxy at their leisure.

Naturally, virtually every iconic moment, character, and location from the three major Star Wars time periods are included in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, including the dreaded Death Star from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. This technological terror quickly blasted its way into pop culture when it appeared in the very first Star Wars movie, serving as the ultimate weapon of the sinister Galactic Empire in its battle to snuff out the Rebel Alliance. It was ultimately destroyed by Luke Skywalker at the conclusion of A New Hope, but the Death Star would make appearances in many Star Wars video games that were either based on or set sometime before that film. These include 2006's LEGO Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy, which saw the dreaded space station be blasted apart into thousands of LEGO bricks.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga recreates this moment as part of its retelling of Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, but it seems that players who complete the game can command the dreaded Death Star themselves. Star Wars YouTube channel Lunar Squadron recently posted a video of some of The Skywalker Saga’s Free Roam gameplay, with the team exploring the city-planet of Coruscant. At the beginning of the video, they show off an interesting feature that is unlocked after completing the story mode, and one that fans have been asking for in a LEGO Star Wars game for years: by accessing the galaxy map and selecting “Capital Ships” from the Ships menu, players can call forth the Death Star to any planet on The Skywalker Saga's galaxy map. Even better, the player can dock their ship inside the Death Star and freely explore the massive space station like they would the planet it’s currently orbiting, but the Lunar Squadron crew decided to save this for a later video in favor of resuming their trip to Coruscant.

So far, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has earned a string of positive reviews, with critics lauding the game for its large amount of content, gameplay variety, and humorous take on the nine-film Skywalker storyline. In addition to the vast amount of characters and levels available at launch, Traveller's Tales will add even more content to The Skywalker Saga in the form of DLC based on spin-off media like Rogue One and The Mandalorian. Meanwhile, there are already special LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga promo codes that can be used to unlock bonus characters like Darth Vader in a festive Life Day sweater.

While players probably won’t be able to use the Death Star to destroy planets in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, getting to summon the massive space station from anywhere in the Star Wars galaxy is a neat touch. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is now available across all major platforms, so LEGO fans can unleash the ultimate power in the universe - aside from the Force, that is.
