Certain LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga characters can be paired together to create some unique dialogue interactions while exploring hub worlds. Playing through every LEGO Skywalker Saga episode first will unlock the potential for all playable characters to interact with one another in some form or fashion, but only certain ones have unique dialogue. Some of the best and most creative conversations come from the character combos that aren't available in the movies.

The ability to pair characters together that wouldn't have otherwise coexisted has been an iconic feature in the LEGO Star Wars video games. 2007's LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga brought together the characters from the prequels and original trilogy for the first time, allowing players to take on missions with random combinations of characters, like Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Vader. However, the original LEGO Star Wars games lacked voice dialogue, with the characters only speaking in mumbles. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, on the other hand, is fully voiced, which has enabled developer Traveller's Tales to get a little more creative with the series' unique brand of LEGO humor.

Unique dialogue conversations that happen in the middle of interesting character combos in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga are a comical and enjoyable addition to the game. Turning on the mumble mode won't allow for these conversations to be heard, so if players want to hear these interesting and sometimes lore-ridden chats, playing the game with voices is the best way to go. These exchanges will typically take place as soon as players have swapped to certain important LEGO Star Wars characters, so they can be easy to miss if their attention is elsewhere.

LEGO Skywalker Characters With Unique Dialogue Interactions

LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader and Lando Dialogue

One of the most comical dialogue conversations in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga happens when both Luke Skywalker and Rancor are matched together in the same group. Luke says "Yeah, that gate looked heavy, sorry about that. No hard feelings?" which is a reference back to the sixth movie in the Star Wars series, Return of The Jedi.  While visiting Jabba the Hutt, Luke is cast down into a dungeon to face off against Rancor, and defeats the monster by collapsing a massive gate spiked gate on its head. Rancor doesn't reply because it doesn't speak a language. Nonetheless, it'll still go down as one of the most hilarious moments for Luke Skywalker in a Star Wars game.

Young Anakin also has a couple of unique dialogue interactions in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, both of which foreshadow the character's future. In his first one with Padme, he says, "Are you an angel?" and it harkens back to his first initial fascination with her as a young boy. Padme does answer the Young Anakin character with "I've never heard of angels..." which is just a light-hearted response from a person living in-universe without them. The other unique dialogue interaction is with Young Anakin's future self: Darth Vader. Young Anakin comments "Woah! That's a cool suit! Where can I get one?" to which Darth Vader replies, "Patience, child. Patience."

Darth Vader steals the show with a total of eight unique dialogue interactions, including the one he had with Young Anakin. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga does specifically follow Darth Vader's bloodline, so it only makes sense that he'd be the center of it all. Some of Darth Vader's unique dialogues are with characters he's already gotten a chance to meet, but the best are the chats with people he never met in the series, such as Kylo Ren - his grandson, and a new funny LEGO Star Wars character. When meeting his grandfather, Kylo goes into a panic saying, "It's... you! OK, c'mon Ben, keep it together. You dreamed of this moment." Vader replies with nonchalance, but it's funny to see Ben Solo fanboy over his Sith icon.

General Grievous & Maul LEGO Dialogue Highlights Star Wars Lore

LEGO Star Wars General Grievous and Darth Maul Dialogue

Other than the Skywalker characters, there are other combos that spark some interesting and lore-ridden dialogue, with General Grievous and Darth Maul being one pair. When the two are in the same group, Grievous shows his interest in Maul's lightsaber by saying, "Such an impressive lightsaber. So unique! May I... touch it?" Darth Maul doesn't answer Grevious, but he does look at him with an angry face and enters into a defensive stance. What's so interesting behind Grievous' comment is his background of collecting lightsabers from defeated Jedi foes. Darth Maul, although dying before Grievous comes onto the scene in LEGO Skywalker Saga's Revenge of the Sith, senses that he might try to take his lightsaber too. The pair did meet in Star Wars canon in the Son of Dathomir comic, but this is still a fun way of highlighting Grievous' obsession with lightsabers.

Among the remaining unique dialogue interactions between characters in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Jedi master Yaddle may have one of the funniest. In a Reddit post by user LEGO_Boba_Fett, Yaddle was captured saying, "I just might write a book on you one day," while talking to Boba Fett. Fett was, of course, the star of the recent Book of Boba Fett series on Disney+, making this an unintentional reference to the series. Also interesting to note is that Yaddle doesn't talk like Yoda in LEGO Star Wars, which aligns with canon material published in Lucasfilm's High Republic initiative.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga's unique dialogue interactions are a small but great addition to the game. Although players must wait until they can unlock the corresponding characters to hear the dialogue in-game, it's worth grinding for those studs in order to get them. Little parts like this make the overall experience of the game much more enjoyable, especially when searching for Kyber Bricks in the open world. Not only do they spotlight some of the more interesting "what-ifs?" of the Star Wars mythos, they do so in typically wholesome LEGO fashion. It typifies the game's funny-yet-faithful approach to the source material, and shows why TT Games' latest title is so endearing.
