LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Announced - All 9 Movies in 1 Game

LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga

LEGO Star Wars is getting a bumper release soon. As part of the E3 2019 press conference for Xbox, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was announced, covering off all nine episodes of the Star Wars saga in one LEGO package.

The LEGO Star Wars toy series has become one of the most popular and long-running tie-ins between LEGO and another property. This has carried over into the world of video games with tremendous success, with both the original trilogy and the prequels getting their own adaptations. Meanwhile, The Force Awakens was also translated into a LEGO game of its own back in 2016.

For those that would like all of the Star Wars films under one LEGO-style roof, however, there's a game in the pipeline that will scratch that itch. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga covers off every one of the main episodic Star Wars movies with that unique LEGO style, covering off The Phantom Menace all the way through to The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. The debut trailer can be found below.

This means that the final two episode of the Star Wars Skywalker story are going to be adapted into LEGO form for the very first time. Fans of The Last Jedi who have enjoyed the LEGO games thus far will no doubt be pleased to learn that it's getting the LEGO treatment at long last, although it will be interesting to see how the game covers off the milk drinking scene.

Rather than a rehash of the previous LEGO Star Wars games that have come before it, it appears as though this is going to be a new title entirely. Hopefully, that won't mean that it is a whistle stop tour through Star Wars as a whole, with each episode given enough time and space to truly be able to breathe.

Something that will be interesting to see is whether LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga mixes up the traditional LEGO gameplay, which for some is getting a little bit on the stale side. Either way, the prospect of visiting characters ranging from Obi Wan all the way through to Kylo Ren should provide plenty of room to enjoy things when it releases after the launch of Episode 9.
