Warner Bros. Games, The LEGO Group, and Lucasfilm Games officially announced LEGO Star Wars Battles, a multiplayer strategy game launching on Apple Arcade. Fans are still anxiously awaiting LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which is reportedly releasing in Spring 2022. LEGO games are known for their playful takes on the Star Wars saga, and the upcoming new installment is poised to be the most comprehensive LEGO Star Wars game ever made. It will include the final two Star Wars films, as well as a revamp of the first six titles and The Force Awakens. As fans await LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, they’ll have another new Star Wars-themed LEGO games to get hyped for – and it will be free for Apple Arcade subscribers.

Apple Arcade is a subscription service that provides over 200 different ad-free mobile games with absolutely no in-app purchases. The Apple Arcade subscription fee is set at $4.99 per month, which grants subscribers unlimited access to the large library of premium content. Many mobile gamers have refused to invest in Apple’s latest gaming endeavor, while others have embraced it wholeheartedly. Now, Star Wars fans may not have a choice, because LEGO Star Wars Battles is launching exclusively on the platform.

While the release date has not been confirmed, LEGO Star Wars Battles is coming soon to Apple Arcade. The new, action strategy game, will not have ads or in-app purchases and Apple Arcade subscribers will have unlimited access to the latest LEGO Star Wars game. The game will let players control a wide selection of Star Wars characters and vehicles in many memorable locations. It will be a real-time strategy game that pits two players against each other in online multiplayer battles.

LEGO Star Wars Battles is coming soon to Apple Arcade

LEGO Star Wars Battles is being developed by TT Games Brighton and will allow players to create powerful teams with characters and vehicles from across the Star Wars Saga. Gamers will be tasked with creating unstoppable squads and will need to fend off their opponent’s troops while simultaneously building LEGO towers on the battlefield. Ultimately, players will need to decimate their opponent’s base, mastering light side and dark side troops to win the day.

LEGO Star Wars Battles seems like the strategy game fans have been waiting for. Without in-app purchases to create a pay-to-win mechanic, gamers will have to rely on skill rather than wallets to defeat their opponents. While it will take a monthly subscription to maintain access to the strategy game, LEGO Star Wars Battles seems to be doing a lot of things right. Previous Star Wars mobile games have been marred with pay-to-win mechanics, creating a massive divide between fans.

Hopefully, LEGO Star Wars Battles provides the right amount of gameplay opportunities for gamers, giving it longevity among other mobile titles. While a release date hasn’t been announced, it’s likely the game will arrive on Apple Arcade ahead of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga release. Being able to jump into a LEGO version of Scarif, Naboo, or Hoth will be a welcomed surprise ahead of the major LEGO release.
