LEGO has unveiled its new Star Wars AT-AT model, and the product is a canine-sized wonder. The AT-AT, or All Terrain Armored Transport, first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back in 1980; the four-legged giant troop carriers terrorized Mark Hamill’s heroic Luke Skywalker and the rebel alliance during the Battle of Hoth. The memorable enemy walkers have since appeared several times in Star Wars merchandise, spin-offs, and sequels and have become as recognizable as the TIE Fighter and the X-Wing. As such, alongside the several toys made of the AT-AT, there have also been several LEGO models produced over the years.

Star Wars and LEGO have been perfectly paired since the Danish toy brand first produced sets based on the fantasy franchise in 1999. The two brands have since joined forces for over 800 sets over the last 20+ years, making the franchise one of LEGO’s most successful themes. Particular best sellers of the Star Wars range are the Ultimate Collector Series sets, adult-directed models with larger piece counts and price tags, such as 2017’s Millennium Falcon (the $800 model which became LEGO’s largest set ever with over 7500 pieces). The hulking mechanical AT-AT walker has been brought to life in LEGO form five times previously; in 2003, 2007, 2010, 2014, and 2020 respectively. All five sets featured a brick-built version of the walker in various levels of intricacy, with 2007’s version featuring a working motor.

Now, as reported by JediNews, LEGO is releasing an Ultimate Collector Series version of the iconic vehicle. Set 75313 Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series A-AT features 6785 bricks and measures over 62 cm tall and 69 cm long; as big as many people’s pets. The set retails for $800, but the huge, detailed display model makes up for the hefty price tag. See the fantastic product below:

Complete with sliding doors on the main torso of the walker, builders can recreate all their favorite moments from the Battle of Hoth and can also move the weaponized headpiece and side cannons. The massive model stands out from its previous iterations with its larger size and interior space, which features room for up to forty Snowtrooper figures and comes with a couple of detachable Snowspeeders. If that wasn’t enough for Star Wars fans, the collector’s item comes with nine LEGO mini-figures, including Luke Skywalker and General Veers.

With its large piece count, the new set will become LEGO’s fifth-biggest set of all time, overtaking the 6,020 piece Hogwarts Castle miniature display set. LEGO has been continuing to impress fans of all themes and ages in recent weeks, including the recent reveal of LEGO Ideas’ Home Alone set, a fan-suggested playset based on the beloved 90s holiday movie. Adult fans have also been interested in the addition of LEGO’s Titanic model, a 9000 piece recreation of the ship, which will release in November as the brand’s largest set ever.

The new AT-AT model will be an ideal display feature for Star Wars and LEGO fans. A must-have for any enthusiasts, the toy looks like a great talking point with several entertaining features. Alongside the Millennium Falcon and the several Imperial ships produced by the LEGO UCS line, the AT-AT becomes a fine addition to the collection. The iconic Star Wars playset goes on sale for $799.99 on November 26th in LEGO stores and LEGO Shop online.
