The LEGO Ninjago Movie toy sets are unveiled, revealing tie-ins with Warner Bros' upcoming LEGO franchise installment. The studio initially kickstarted their yellow brick building block film franchise with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's The LEGO Movie in 2014, which took the toy property and created a family-friendly animated adventure. The LEGO Movie was well received by critics and fans alike, and went on to earn success at the box office in addition to award recognition. As such, Warner Bros quickly announced an entire shared universe of LEGO-based properties, the first of which debuted earlier this year in The LEGO Batman Movie.

Next, Warner Bros is gearing up to roll out The LEGO Ninjago Movie - which will be followed by The LEGO Movie Sequel and The Billion Brick Race, both planned for 2019. The next franchise installment follows a young ninja named Lloyd (Dave Franco) who assembles a team of fellow ninjas - Nya (Abbi Jacobson), Kai (Michael Peña), Jay (Kumail Nanjiani), Zane (Zach Woods), and Cole (Fred Armisen) - in order to defeat his father, the evil Lord Garmadon (Justin Theroux). Additionally lending their voices to The LEGO Ninjago Movie are Jackie Chan as Master Wu and Olivia Munn as Lloyd's mother Koko.

Now, the LEGO tie-in sets for Ninjago have been revealed, all of which will be available starting August 1st, and they promise plenty of building block mecha action. The first set is the Green Ninja Mech Dragon, which is piloted by Lloyd. The set retails at $49.99 and includes 544 pieces. Take a look in the gallery below:

A handful of the mecha fighters in these LEGO sets briefly appeared in the first trailer for The LEGO Ninjago Movie, including the Green Ninja Mech Dragon, the Ice Tank, the Flying Jelly Sub, and the inside of Destiny's Bounty. Thanks to these LEGO sets, fans can get a better idea of what to expect from the action in LEGO Ninjago - plus, the younger LEGO viewers will have plenty of fun acting out their own adventures with Lloyd, Master Wu and Lord Garmadon. However, with the sets not available until August, and the movie not debuting until September, fans will have to wait just a little longer to get the full LEGO Ninjago Movie experience.
