Warning! Spoilers for LEGO Ninjago: Garmadon #2 by Image Comics and Skybound below

Garmadon is confronting his past with Master Wu as a new comic further explores the heartbreaking relationship in LEGO Ninjago between the two characters. In a brand new preview for LEGO Ninjago: Garmadon #2 from Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment, a flashback shows Garmadon's contentious relationship Garmadon had with his brother with Master Wu not willing to throw away their relationship due to their differences.

In the LEGO Ninjago universe, Master Wu is Garmdon's older brother, as the pair ended up on drastically different paths in life. In their early lives, Wu and Garmadon were close, but their relationship fractured after Garmadon was bitten by the Great Devourer, whose venom corrupted him into the villain most LEGO fans are familiar with. After numerous back and forth battles, including Garmadon, nearly killing Wu, the brothers would fight together against the Oni and protect the Monastery of Spinjitzu. Now, LEGO Ninjago: Garmadon #2 shows what happened following the team-up and how Master Wu still believes there is good inside his long-corrupted brother.

In a brand new preview for LEGO Ninjago: Garmadon #2 by Tri Vuong from Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment, readers are taken back to after Master Wu and Garmadon saved the Monastery of Spinjitzu. Master Wu greets his brother by telling him Ninjago owes him for his help and how he can't help but notice he acted on the side of good again. Of course, Garmadon tries to justify helping by saying he can't rule a city of ash and that his assistance was a "side effect" to preserve Ninjago for himself.

Master Wu reminds Garmadon that by joining the Tornado of Creation to defeat the Oni, he chose light over darkness. Wu grabs his brother's helmet while telling him the good he caused can't be denied, even by a curmudgeon like him. Wu throws his younger brother's helmet off the side of a cliff while giving him a hat (seen in present-day on Garmadon). As Master Wu departs, he tells Garmadon that he will always be his brother no matter what path he chooses.

The moment shows that despite everything that's happened and all of the conflicts Garmadon has caused, Master Wu still considers him his brother - and that will never change. Readers can see Garmadon's journey continue when LEGO Ninjago: Garmadon #2 by Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment arrives in comic book stores on May 18, 2022.
