Marvel released a new trailer for the upcoming LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 video game from Traveller's Tales that features a huge amount of Thor: Ragnarok content.

The LEGO line of video games have carved out a niche as kid-friendly adventures that pack in enough humor and pure fun to be enjoyable for gamers of all age ranges. Due to the timing of Thor: Ragnarok hitting theaters this weekend and the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 game slated to release later this month, a crossover was all but a given.

The video, posted by Marvel Entertainment and embedded above, shows a long list of Marvel heroes such as Captain America, Thor, Loki, several Hulk variations, Star-Lord, and more. In the video we see our heroes assembled at the throne of Asgard before being attacked. Seeing the likes of Captain America and company alongside Thor in this realm offers a fresh spin on the fiction that you won't see in the films. Later in the trailer, we even get to see the team facing off an entire army of Hulks, rather than just the one such as in the films.

One of the biggest selling points of the LEGO video games is the sheer size of the character rosters and how varied each of them are. For example, characters like Star-Lord will be able to fly, while characters like Spider-Man will resort to using their web swinging and wall climbing abilities. There are also variant characters from alternate time periods and continuities that join together, such as Spider-Gwen or Old West Captain America. In the trailer we even get to a brief glimpse of Frog Thor!

The game's premise helps explain away the lore inconsistencies by way of establishing a series of time manipulation-based. A large city named Chronopolis will serve as the game's hub and the action of time rewinding and fast-forwarding (as well as crossing different timelines) will be a major element in the game's plot. The storyline this time around will be non-linear, meaning you can pursue narrative threads in different orders at your own speed, which helps weave together so many different characters into a single game.

All of the Thor: Ragnarok themed content will be in the game from launch, but as future MCU films continue to release such as Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, updates will be made available to LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 for the extra content.
