The Flash Is Fired In New LEGO DC Super Heroes Trailer

Barry Allen is kicked out of the Justice League in the brand new trailer for LEGO DC Super Heroes: The Flash.

We currently have two incarnations of the Flash -- one from the small screen with Grant Gustin and separate one from Ezra Miller's movie version of the fastest man in the world. But there is a new iteration in town, and he appears to be just as fun as how the other versions of the character are. One main advantage, though, he officially is in the Justice League, until, suddenly, he isn't anymore.

Published on Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's official YouTube account, the trailer gives us a sneak peek at the upcoming animated film from Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment and The LEGO Group putting the Scarlet Speedster at the center of the narrative. Clocking in at just a bit more than two minutes, the clip is packed with a lot of visuals and context as to what this specific narrative will mean to Barry. Unlike in the budding DC Films universe, the Justice League is already established and even has their Hall of Justice all set up. However, just one slip from the fastest man on Earth, particularly oversleeping and missing the trouble alert, is all it takes for him to be booted out the squad. That, and some conniving manipulation from his arch-nemesis, Reverse Flash.

Aside from our usual game players, LEGO DC Super Heroes: The Flash also features a plethora of brand new characters that are making the jump from the comics books to the franchise. This includes The Atom; B’dg, a squirrel-esque Green Lantern; a pair of legendary super pets in Ace the Bat-Hound and Krypto the Super-Dog, Batman and Superman’s faithful canine pals; as well as Aquaman’s trusted seahorse, Storm.

From what we saw on the trailer, the movie continues the not-too-serious but very self-aware approach of Warner Bros. on their animated superhero series. It's looking to be a fun film so Flash fans might want to check it out considering that it might take a little bit of time before we see Miller's solo Flashpoint movie with a slew of other DC Films' properties already on the company's lineup.
