A new set of clips for Legends of Tomorrow introduce Zari before her debut tonight. When Legends of Tomorrow was originally pitched to fans, the idea was that each season would see a new iteration of the eponymous team. Instead, a core group has been established with a few other character coming and going each season. While the show has yet to undergo a major casting change-up, plenty of new arrivals are on the way in season 3.
Victor Garber is leaving Legends of Tomorrow this season, but he might not be the only core players who steps down in the near future. This week alone will incorporate some fresh blood into both the show's hero and villain department. Tonight, when the Legends get a distress call from Gary of the Time Bureau, they will encounter Zari Tomaz. A hacktivist from the year 2042, Zari is more than able to fend for herself, and her desire to see the Legends do more to fix history will offer plenty of tension when she comes aboard the Waverider.
The CW has now released a handful of clips from tonight's Legends of Tomorrow episode, 'Zari.' The first one introduces the titular character as Sara, Ray, Mick, and Nate attempt to save her from A.R.G.U.S. Naturally, they end up in hot water while she escapes. However, as another clip shows, Zari is not out of trouble yet.
Introduced at the end of last week's episode, Kuasa is the villain from the animated series Vixen. After her death while wearing the Zambesi Water Totem, she seems to have been revived with its powers. Now, she's Legends of Tomorrow's take on Hydro Man and will be a formidable villain for the Legends.
Along with the two clips, a new behind-the-scenes featurette from tonight's episode showcases Zari, Kuasa, and the connection that they will both have to the Legends. Given that Kuasa is the granddaughter of Amaya and Ray teamed up with her on Vixen, the villain won't be the typical baddie that the Legends have faced.
Ahead of tonight's episode, it's been unclear how Zari and Kuasa will fit into the show's season 3 narrative. One appears to be a reluctant hero while the other is a villain with plenty of shades of good. The inclusion of the mystical Zambesi Totems will also add an interesting wrinkle, especially considering Vixen's Spirit Totem has been acting up lately. After tonight's episode of Legends of Tomorrow, we should know a lot more about what to expect from the rest of the season, moving forward.
Legends of Tomorrow continues tonight with 'Zari' on The CW.
