Legends of Tomorrow season 6 can finally pay off the big Wonder Twins moment from the Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths. The time-traveling superhero group recently began its sixth season after almost being off the air for a whole year. While the Legends have tackled all sorts of time travel threats over the years, this season will see them go up against aliens. Even though the Arrowverse is no stranger to having both good and bad aliens, Legends of Tomorrow will be facing them all season long. The season premiere ended with several alien pods being scattered into different timelines, giving the Legends a workload to deal with throughout the season.

While Legends of Tomorrow don't usually go for as many DC Comics connections as the other Arrowverse shows do, the sixth season has a natural way to finally use a pair of characters that would this show perfectly. At the end of Crisis on Infinite Earths, after Earth-Prime had been created, the 5-part crossover ended with one final treat for the viewers and long-time DC fans. While The CW's Justice League had come together, a monkey's laugh can be heard in the background, as it was revealed that DC's Gleek had escaped. With the Exxorian monkey running away offscreen, it establishes the Wonder Twins' pet alien's existence in the Arrowverse.

Arrowverse boss Marc Guggenheim had said that Zan and Jayna were originally going to be in Crisis on Infinite Earths, before having to take them out of the script. However, Guggenheim stated that any show could basically grab the Wonder Twins if they wanted, which is exactly what Legends of Tomorrow should be doing, including Gleek. The Wonder Twins have always been the kind of characters that would fit this show specifically. Zan and Jayna are both light-hearted, witty, and heroic while also being a pair of goofballs (in the best way possible) themselves, which is what Legends of Tomorrow is all about.

More importantly, Legends of Tomorrow season 6 did the perfect setup for the Wonder Twins. Since viewers never saw all the aliens that were trapped in those containment pods, it wouldn't be impossible for one or two of them to be holding Zan and Jayna inside, as it's highly unlikely every alien pod that fell into different timelines will all villains-of-the-week. While it's unclear why Gleek was being kept by the Justice League, having Legends of Tomorrow reveal that the Wonder Twins were captured this entire time and are now somewhere displaced in time would allow the franchise to potentially explain this, and potentially flesh out more of the overall universe.

Since the theme for Legends of Tomorrow season 6 appears to be aliens, there is no other Arrowverse show better to tackle the Wonder Twins than the Waverider-centric series. It wouldn't be shocking though if Gleek wasn't part of it though, given that it would require them to do a CGI-creature regularly. Not only would it allow the Arrowverse drama to introduce two other iconic DC heroes, but it would be a way to finally come full circle with their DC Easter egg during Crisis on Infinite Earths, with Legends of Tomorrow being the right show to do it.
