Gorilla Grodd appears in the trailer for next week's episode of Legends of Tomorrow, titled 'Welcome to the Jungle'. The third season of Legends of Tomorrow seems to be getting pretty personal for the Legends. Sara now has to face her sister's killer once more, even though she thought her battle with Damien Darhk was over. Amaya and Zuri are learning about the connection they share through their totems, and now Amaya has discovered that her own granddaughter is one of their current enemies. Plus, Martin and Jax are trying to find a way to sever the connection that not only allows them to be Firestorm, but also keeps Martin alive and both of them telepathically connected.

With these personal stories being told, it is no wonder that some of their adventures through time are also getting a bit personal. Already the Legends have traveled back to Ray's past to save his life, and encountered a rather evil ancestor of Martin's. So it should be no surprise that they will soon encounter a time displaced enemy who will be known to one or two of the Legends, through their history with Barry Allen and Team Flash. This time, the anachronism they are facing is none other than Gorilla Grodd.

The CW has released the trailer for next week's episode, titled 'Welcome to the Jungle'. The jungle in this case seems to be in Vietnam, during the war - and apparently Grodd's new home. Also released by the CW is the episode's official synopsis:

With Sara (Caity Lotz) out of commission, the team finds a new Anachronism that leads them to the jungles of Vietnam and right in the middle of the war. Ray (Brandon Routh), Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Zari (Tala Ashe) pose as journalists and trek through the jungle when they are lead to time-displaced Gorilla Grodd. Meanwhile, Nate (Nick Zano) and Rory (Dominic Purcell) run into someone Rory knows which give a glimpse into his past. Victor Garber and Franz Drameh also star.

Sara being out of commission is a direct continuation from the previous episode 'Helen Hunt' where she was magically injured by Damian Darhk's daughter Nora. Sara will recover, but Gideon had to medically induce a coma for a few days while the Legends' captain heals. This means the Legends will be facing both Grodd and the dangers of the Vietnam War without a leader, unless they choose a second in command to cover until Sara is fully recovered.

And Grodd won't be the only somewhat familiar face the group encounters. According to the synopsis, Rory will be seeing someone from his own past. Considering that actor Dominic Purcell was five years old when the conflict in Vietnam ended, odds are that anyone Rory encounters in the episode would be an older figure in his life. Perhaps a relative of Rory's, or a criminal mentor.

With the war, Grodd, and whoever it is from Rory's past all showing up while the Legends are without a leader, it certainly sounds like they're going to have their hands full. To say nothing of Damien Darhk, Mallus, and the rest of the enemies they're currently dealing with, who could possibly show up as well.
