An extended trailer for The CW's Legends of Tomorrow previews John Constantine (Matt Ryan) showing up just in time for a war of magic with Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), his daughter Nora (Courtney Ford), and the evil entity known as Mallus (voiced by Fringe's John Noble). The CW will begin airing the second half of season 3 next week on the show's new Monday night time-slot.
Following the defeat of the Legion of Doom, season 3 of Legends of Tomorrow picked up with the crew of the Waverider reuniting to deal with time anomalies called anachronisms that were created by their actions in the time stream. Their problems went from bad to worse when their old foe and former Arrow villain Damien Darhk was resurrected by his daughter with the help of a mysterious being known as Mallus. The Legends' former captain, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) warned them about Mallus before he was arrested by his own people, the Time Bureau.
The CW has released an extended trailer for upcoming episodes of Legends of Tomorrow that reveals more footage than last week's midseason promo (see the video embedded above). We get to see Nate (Nick Zano) using Snart's cold gun, Sara in a strange world with Mallus, and a sword fight in colonial times, among other things.
The trailer gives fan a deeper look at the Legends' encounter with Constantine, whose role in the series was confirmed last October. In a scene with Sara (Caity Lotz), Constantine reminds her that it was he who brought her back to life in season 4 of Arrow. Constantine tells Sara of a demon who knows her name. Constantine's warning pertains to a possessed woman with red eyes in a mental intuition. We know from the synopsis that Constantine will need the Legends' help in performing an exorcism on her.
Showrunner Marc Guggenheim has said that in the midseason premiere we will finally get to see a confrontation with Mallus. The trailer suggests that it will be Sara who gets to meet him. To fight Mallus, the Legends will need all the help they can get. That help will come in the form of Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale), who will be coming aboard the Waverider as a series regular. Since he'll be accompanied by Rip, it's possible that Wally will brought to the team specifically for fighting Mallus.
Legends of Tomorrow continues Monday, February 12 with "Daddy Darhkest" at 8pm ET on The CW.
