Scrubs star Donald Faison joins Legends of Tomorrow season 7 in a major role. One of The CW's DC shows that is getting closer to the finish line this season is Legends of Tomorrow. With only a handful of episodes left in the seventh season, things are starting to come to full circle. For the majority of the season, the crew has been hunted by evil versions of themselves. Earlier this season, the Robot Legends were introduced as they are trying to hunt down the real heroes, thinking they are the ones that need to be removed from the timeline.

Like past seasons of Legends of Tomorrow, the ongoing season has a short episode count which means that things are starting to wrap up. Despite a recent rumor, The CW hasn't renewed the DC drama for another season. Unless an announcement is coming before March, this could be the first season where fans may not know until after the finale whether or not Legends of Tomorrow continues for another year. However, fans will have something big to look forward to for this year's season finale.

EW reports that Donald Faison of Scrubs fame is joining Legends of Tomorrow season 7 as a major mystery player. The character will make his debut in the season 7 finale, which is set to air on Wednesday, March 2, and the fun doesn't stop there. While The CW has yet to renew Legends of Tomorrow for an eighth season, producers hope Faison will reprise his character next year if the show gets picked up again. Despite not revealing the name of his mystery role, The CW provided a very detailed description that may offer some clues to who Faison is playing:

"The Legends first encounter this character at a different phase of his career whose golden years are in the rearview mirror. He is good guy deep down; his ego is looking for a boost that only fame, fortune, and glory can provide. While he claims to have been recruited to work for a mysterious time organization, he wasn't offered much of a choice in the matter. As an unauthorized time traveler with high-profile aspirations, he developed a mischievous streak and cuts a few corners along the way to achieving his dreams. He knows all about the Legends of Tomorrow and finds them inspiring because they are the kind of heroes who started at the ground floor, as opposed to inheriting their powers from an alien planet, a spider bite, or wealthy parents. But the big question is whether his respect for the team is going to be able to help the Legends out of hot water or get them into hotter water!"

Legends of Tomorrow Season 7 Episode 9

While Legends of Tomorrow hasn't been using a lot of DC characters lately, Faison's description sounds a lot like it could be the Arrowverse's take on Booster Gold. The character's hunger for fame, fortune, and glory is spot on with his personality in the comics. The fact that he already knows who the Legends are sounds like something that someone from the future would do. It would also make sense to add someone as big as Faison to play someone from the DC Universe. For years, fans have speculated Booster Gold would show up at some point.

The Arrowverse is also known for reimagining iconic heroes, whether it be through casting people of color as characters who were white in the comics or even changing their gender. That is what has helped make the franchise be inclusive ever since the Arrowverse started in 2012. If Faison is indeed playing Booster, that could also explain why Rip Hunter, who is his son in the comics, never had his parents named in the Arrowverse. Whether Faison is playing an established DC hero or not, this is without doubt one of the show's biggest casting moves of all time. With less than three episodes left of Legends of Tomorrow season 7, it won't be long until fans meet Faison and discover who he is actually playing.
