The Legends of Tomorrow season 6 trailer is here, featuring alien burgers, giant laser guns, fake reality TV shows, and knockoff Disney princesses. The Arrowverse show has been a big hit for The CW for years, gradually embracing stranger and stranger styles and storylines with each progressive season. Legends of Tomorrow looks like it will be continuing that trend when season 6 premieres on The CW on May 2.

Based on the DC Comics characters, Legends of Tomorrow centers on a time-traveling team of superheroes caught up in various adventures and world-ending crises. The show has featured a large cast of characters through its first 5 seasons, including mainstays like Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz), Mick Rory/Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), John Constantine (Matt Ryan), Ava Sharpe (Jes Macallan), and Ray Palmer/Atom (Brandon Routh). Legends of Tomorrow was the fourth Arrowverse show to premiere, following Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl.

A new trailer for Legends of Tomorrow season 6, shared to YouTube by TV Promos, gives a glimpse at the crazy adventures to come. The trailer shows the Legends planning the rescue of Sara Lance, who was abducted by aliens at the end of season 5. It looks like Ava will be leading the crew to some wild places to save her, including a retro Americana diner, and will feature a Disney-style animated episode. It looks like Legends of Tomorrow season 6 will feature all the same craziness and style fans have come to expect from the show. Watch the new trailer below.

While a number of Arrowverse shows have been recently cancelled or are planned to end soon, Legends of Tomorrow is still going strong. A season 7 was ordered early this year, though longtime star Dominic Purcell will not be returning after season 6. It’s unclear whether or not season 7 will be the show’s final run. After the end of Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow will be the second-longest-running active show in the Arrowverse behind The Flash.

Flanked by more recent additions to the franchise like Batwoman and Superman & Lois, Legends of Tomorrow could continue for years to come. The show’s time-travel conceit and overall absurdist style have set it apart aesthetically, helping the series build a unique and dedicated following that’s lasted through the past five seasons. Legends of Tomorrow season 6 looks like it will keep making things weird when it returns to The CW on May 2.
