- Spoilers for those not caught up on Legends of Tomorrow -
In the promo for the next episode of Legends of Tomorrow - titled "No Country for Old Dads" - the Legends need to save Ray. In the most recent Legends of Tomorrow episode - "The Curse of the Earth Totem" - the Legends raced Damien Darhk for both the fire and earth totems, losing both of them plus Amaya's spirit totem to the villain. And in the last moments of the episode, Darhk also took something else precious from the Legends - Ray Palmer.
With the death of Martin Stein, Amaya losing her totem and therefore her powers, and both Jax and Earth-X Leonard Snart leaving the team, the Legends are already shorthanded. Now with Ray kidnapped by Darhk, they're going to need all the help they can get. Luckily Rip Hunter has been working to get Wally West to join them, and photos for the episode show that he's finally succeeded. Hopefully for Ray, the addition of Wally and Rip will help bring him home safely.
In the trailer, now released by The CW, Ray is in desperately need of help, as Darhk tortures him mercilessly. Meanwhile, the Legends are at a loss as to how they will save their friend, until Amaya realizes that they can find Ray by finding her stolen totem, something Zuri might be able to help her do.
This is not the first time that Ray has been Darhk's prisoner, of course. On Arrow Darhk kept a miniaturized Ray captive for months while Star City mourned him as dead. Things are different this time however, with Nora at her father's side. On one hand, both Darhks are probably pretty furious at Ray for nearly killing Nora with his nanite gun - even though he did come back to save her. On the other hand, Ray did try to help Nora when she was a child. There is a chance she remembers his kindness, and in spite of everything may want to help him.
While Wally West will be a welcome addition to their team, the Legends still have a lot of work to do once they save Ray. Taking the totems that Darhk has stolen, protecting the two (wind and water) that they already have, and figuring out what the mysterious sixth one is and where to find it are all high on the list. Even with Wally and Rip joining up with them, the Legends have their work cut out for them. Hopefully they will get some help from the various familiar faces who will soon be showing up; Jonah Hex and Jesse Quick are both supposed to be seen soon, and returns are in the works for Constantine and Jax as well. Though before they get outside help, the Legends will need to save Ray from the clutches of evil.
Legends of Tomorrow continues on The CW with "No Country for Old Dads" on Monday, March 5 at 9 pm.
