Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) warns that "there's a war coming" in a trailer for The CW's Legends of Tomorrow, which will begin airing the second half of its third season next month. Legends of Tomorrow will share Supergirl's Monday time slot, since The CW has decided not to air four superhero shows at once.

In the first half of season 3, viewers were introduced to the show's newest "big bad", Mallus (voiced by John Noble). Mallus is an evil entity that has existed throughout time. Taking advantage of the anachronisms caused by the events of the season 2 finale, Mallus has become a formidable enemy for the Legends. Mallus' plans have led to the resurrection of Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), a former Arrow villain and a member of the Legion of Doom in season 2. Now the Legends have to deal with Darhk, Mallus, Darhk's daughter, and Nuasa, Amaya's evil granddaughter.

In a new promo for Legends of Tomorrow, fans get to see a preview of what to expect from upcoming episodes of the time-travel series. The trailer begins with an ominous warning from Rip: "There's a war coming. History needs you to be ready." As we're shown clips from the Legends' adventures in time, we get to hear Mallus introduce himself. Matt Ryan's Constantine, whose appearance in the series has been greatly anticipated by fans, can be spotted lighting a match in the trailer. We're also shown glimpses of what appears to be the exorcism that will take place in the midseason premiere.

Fans can expect a lot of things to be different for the Legends when the series returns. With Stein (Victor Garber) and Jax (Franz Drameh) gone, the Legends have lost two of their founding members in a single season. It's unclear how long Citizen Cold (Wentworth Miller) will be sticking around, but since the actor was shooting his "final episodes" in November, it's doubtful that his stay will last for very long. However, The Flash's Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) will be coming aboard the Waverider as a series regular, so that will help fill in the gaps left by Firestorm.

It's also possible that Rip could rejoin the Legends, if the team is able to forgive him for his past actions. Since Rip's warnings about Mallus are apparently coming true, it could be that Sara (Caity Lotz) will welcome Rip back to the team to help fight the coming war.
