SPOILERS for "Crisis On Earth-X"

-

Citizen Cold joins the Legends of Tomorrow in new images from the show's midseason finale. The four-part crossover "Crisis on Earth-X" brought together familiar heroes from all four DC shows on the CW: Supergirl, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Arrow. Viewers were also introduced to a powerful light-wielding meta, The Ray, who will soon have his own animated series on CW Seed. Ray, and several of the Arrowverse team we know and love, were on the brink of death at the hands of a Nazi firing squad on Earth-X. Then Ray's boyfriend Citizen Cold, that universe's version of Leonard Snart, arrived just in time to save them all.

Fans of Wentworth Miller's portrayal of the sly, flirtatious, freeze-gun-wielding anti-hero got the good news at the end of "Crisis on Earth-X" that Cold had decided to chill with the Earth-1 heroes for awhile. This was a slice of good news after the devastating death of Professor Stein, especially as the loss of Martin from the Legends team could be at least temporarily alleviated by Snart jumping on board the Waverider.

During next week's Legends of Tomorrow midseason finale, "Beebo the God of War," the band of misfit time-fixers sets about removing an anachronism from a Viking settlement in the New World. The CW has released several images from the episode, which you can view in the gallery below, and Citizen Cold looks to be spending some quality bromance time with Heat Wave, a.k.a. Mick Rory.

The trailer for next week's episode revealed that Martin won't actually be absent from the story, as a version of his younger self somehow ends up in this Viking village. It's not clear yet if this will answer any of those questions about whether Jax can continue as Firestorm with another partner, but the synopsis does tease that Jax "finds a loophole that could potentially change history, but it is a risk he is willing to take."

The Legends will need all the help they can get with the Vikings, including from the Time Bureau, as the overwhelmingly powerful and conniving Damien Darhk turns up to wreak more havoc on Earth. It's not surprising that Darhk looks to be ruling from a Viking throne in the images from the midseason finale.

Hopefully viewers won't be in for another character death at the hands of Darhk. Earlier this month, Miller revealed on his Instagram that he was filming his "final episodes" in the Arrowverse, so his stay with the Legends sadly won't be permanent. Snart has always fit in well with the more wild, humor-heavy tone of LoT, and the show will be a lot more fun this season if his last story arc continues past the midseason finale.
