When Barry Allen went back in time at the end of The Flash season 2, fans of the series and DC comics knew that he had just created a whole lot of new problems for himself and those around him. So far, a good amount of season 3 has been dedicated to the repercussions of Barry's actions, but it looks like he might not be the only major character in the Arrowverse to experience some major life alterations, as it has now been revealed that Dr. Martin Stein/Firestorm of Legends of Tomorrow will also feel the effects of Flashpoint.

Fans will remember earlier this season when an unfortunate time travel complication found Martin face-to-face with a younger version of himself, who he told to get his act together and work on making his marriage better. Thanks to this latest piece of casting news and tonight's episode of The Flash, it appears as though young Martin may have taken that advice to heart.

Deadline is reporting that actress Christina Brucato (Orange is the New Black) has officially been cast in Legends of Tomorrow as Lily Stein, a new recurring character on the series who also happens to be Martin's daughter. Introduced briefly in The Flash portion of the 'Invasion!' crossover, fans will learn more about Lily in the final part of this week's Arrowverse event, which also doubles as a Legends of Tomorrow episode.

Victor Garber in Legends of Tomorrow

A synopsis for the episode was released recently, and with this latest casting, the latter half of it suddenly makes a lot more sense:

“ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL IN THIS CROSSOVER OF SUPERHEROS — After learning the Dominators’ plan for the world, the Legends must work together with The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin), Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) and Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) to kill them once and for all. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) figures out, with the help of others, how the team can terminate the Dominators, but is distracted by the aberration he realizes he created in 1987."

Seeing how Martin deals with the existence of a daughter he didn't have originally, while also working to try and stop the Dominators once and for all should make for an interesting juggling act for fans to watch later this week. After all, there was bound to be some major consequences following their time-traveling antics for all of the Legends team members, and considering the interactions between he and his younger self specifically, Stein was always one of the most likely.

Without a certain Time Master around to help counsel him with this change, we can only imagine to what lengths Stein may go to in order to deal with Lily's existence. Will Stein try and erase her from history, or will he accept her as his daughter? Luckily, we'll only have to wait a few more days to find out when the 4-part crossover comes to an end.

‘Invasion!’ continues with The Flash tonight, Arrow on Wednesday, and Legends of Tomorrow on Thursday.
