Legends of Tomorrow is in its fifth season. The show started as a collection of characters from the two preceding Arrowverse shows, Arrow and The Flash. The simple idea of time-traveling to stop a villain turned into preventing anachronisms and catching some magical creatures. Legends became a very special show over time and is now a loveable sci-fi action comedy show.

While the core group has mostly been Sara, Ray, and Mick, others like Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Rip Hunter, Kid Flash, Firestorm, and Captain Cold have been a part of the Legends too. The current lineup also has Charlie, Nate, Zari, and Constantine. The great collection of characters offer some fun times for fans, and the behind the scenes photos of the show do too. Let's look at the 10 best behind the scenes photos for Legends of Tomorrow.

Legends Selfie

Here's a look at the classic Legends lineup. We have Caity Lotz in front, obviously taking the photo. In the background, we have Arthur Darvill and Franz Drameh. Darvill played Rip Hunter, the captain of the Wave Rider, in seasons one to three. Drameh played Jefferson Jackson, one half of the superhero Firestorm, in those same seasons. Lotz has been on Legends of Tomorrow from day one. Since Rip's departure, she's been the captain. She's also a member of the new Justice League, and maybe other heroes from the crew could be too.

Lotz has struck a pose here. Darvill's using the classic peace sign. And Drameh is playing it cool. The photo is likely from season one or two. While the show hadn't yet grown into what it is today, it had fun storylines with a good set of characters. And it's only grown in the seasons since.

Legends In Some Greenery

Sometimes you find three Legends hiding among the bushes. The photo is probably from season one, as that was when Wentworth Miller was a main character in the show. He did return for season two and three in a recurring role. Brandon Routh is putting on a mysterious gaze for the camera. Dominic Purcell is giving quite a look as well. And Miller has the trademark Snart smile.

One of the highlights of the show was having Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller together again. Besides, playing Heat Wave and Captain Cold on The Flash, they starred as brothers in the show Prison Break. In a nod to the show, an episode where they have to get their friends out of prison has Snart saying, "This isn't my first prison break."

Nick Zano and Maisie Richardson-Sellers

Here is Nick Zano and Maisie Richardson-Sellers. They play Nate Heywood and Amaya Jiwe respectively. Amaya left the ship in season three, but Richardson-Sellers returned as the shapeshifter Charlie who takes Amaya's form. This meant that she could go from using an American accent to her natural British one. This photo is of good friends. But in the show, Nate and Amaya were in love, which sadly ended when she left the Wave Rider.

Nate is one of the nerds on the ship, along with Ray. The two friends are so into fandoms that when George Lucas' past is changed and he never becomes a filmmaker, it affects their careers. Nate got into archaeology because of Indiana Jones and Ray got into science because of Star Wars. Without Lucas having created those franchises, the two men lost all their knowledge of their fields, meaning that fixing the timeline was very personal during that episode.

Wally And Rip

In season three, Rip goes to find Wally West to have him join the Legends. Kid Flash was a part of the team for the rest of that season, which was a welcome addition, as he hadn't been on The Flash recently. Found here is Keiynan Lonsdale and Arthur Darvill on set with a green screen behind them, showing how widely used the visual effects are on the series.

Rip finds Wally in the episode "Here I Go Again," and tries to convince him to come with him in the following episode. The last episode for both of them was "The Good, the Bad, and the Cuddly." Rip sacrificed himself in battle, and Wally left the team after the fight was finished.

Old School

There have been some great costumes for the characters. Some of the best were when they went to Woodstock at the beginning of season four. In addition to the colorful looks they had, they also fought a unicorn, which bit off Gary's nipple. If that didn't set the tone for the updated direction of the show, nothing would. Here we see Caity Lotz, Tala Ashe, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, and Brandon Routh.

We get to see the actors doing a scene here, likely looking at the unicorn. True to form, Mick has his heat gun in one hand and a drink in the other. Legends sets itself apart as a time-traveling show that will put its characters in the past, but throw some magic and monsters and fun costumes in along the way.

The Cast And Beebo

Ah, Beebo. Who knew that a stuffed blue toy would become so integral to the show? Or that he would help defeat the villain in season three? Here the cast members are in a whole pile of Beebos. What started as a cute toy became an anachronism in the timeline. And Beebo has appeared periodically since that time.

When the heroes used the Totems of Zambesi to create an avatar to fight Mallus, they had to think of something pure. Nate thought of Beebo, so the giant avatar of Beebo fought the final battle. In season five, fans find out there will be a Detective Beebo movie starring Ryan Reynolds. Wouldn't it be amazing if that made it into an episode too?

Brandon Routh And His Coffee

This Tweet from Brandon Routh seems to just be a simple picture of him and coffee. But there's a wonderful before-and-after coffee pose from Grant Gustin as well. Gustin and Routh have appeared in many crossovers together as the Flash and the Atom. Routh has been a fan of Bulletproof Coffee for years and often posts about it on social media.

As we'll see in another picture coming up, Grant Gustin never misses a chance for a great pose. Crossover photos are no exception. Gustin's face is hilarious here, and Routh is unphased by it.

Arrowverse Family

Here we have Caity Lotz, Emily Bett Rickards, Candice Patton, Echo Kellum, Chyler Leigh, and Melissa Benoist. All of these characters on the Wave Rider together suggests it's from a crossover. Kellum gets the award for best photobomb, staring straight at the camera as everyone else smiles.

In 2017, the actresses of the Arrowverse came together for Shethority, which was started to empower and inspire women. Besides the five actresses pictured here, it also includes Danielle Panabaker, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Tala Ashe, Juliana Harkavy, and Katie Cassidy.

Filming The Crossover

Here is a wonderful photo of the Arrowverse family. Getting the obvious out of the way, here's another classic pose from Grant Gustin. Melissa Benoist's pose is much more normal. Rick Gonzalez is smiling in the background, and Candice Patton is sticking her tongue out behind Gustin.

Seeing the actors genuinely have fun together behind the scenes just adds to how enjoyable the shows are. That can certainly be felt on screen as well, and it's good to know it exists on both sides of the camera.

Supermen

Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh Superman

Here is a great picture of two Superman filming for "Crisis on Infinite Earths." Tyler Hoechlin is the Superman of the Arrowverse, and Brandon Routh got to return to the role after a thirteen-year absence. Routh played Superman in 2006 for Superman Returns, a sequel to the Christopher Reeves series.

Not only is Routh wearing the Kingdom Come costume, but certain dialogue suggests that he is supposed to be the same Superman from the movie. A powerful scene comes when he says the red "S" on the black background is meant to represent hope coming through. At the end of the crossover, he's wearing the classic costume again.
