Shiny Hisuian Arcanine is one of many new variants introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The Hisuian Arcanine is a Fire- and Rock-type with an orange and brown pattern to it. The Shiny counterpart shares the same types, but its appearance changes to bright yellow with black stripes on its legs and back and a lighter brown head and tail. A Shiny Hisuian Arcanine can't be found in the wild, but there is still a way to obtain one in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
In order to acquire a Shiny Hisuian Arcanine, players will need to find and catch a Shiny Hisuian Growlithe. Shiny Pokémon can be difficult to find, but they're much easier to spot in Pokémon Legends: Arceus than in previous games. Luckily, for Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus players don't need to start an encounter to determine if they've found a Shiny version. Instead, Pokémon appear in their Shiny form as soon as they spawn in with a distinct chiming sound, and they will have glimmering stars surrounding them.
Mass Outbreaks, a Shiny Charm, and a complete Pokédex entry will increase the odds of finding a Shiny Hisuian Growlithe. Mass Outbreaks appear on the map as soon as players enter a region. In Hisuian Growlithe's case, a Mass Outbreak may occur in Cobalt Coastlands in Windbreak Stand or Veilstone Cape at the top of the cliff. Catching Hisuian Growlithe multiple times will help players complete its Pokédex entry, which increases the odds of finding a Shiny version. The odds are increased further with a perfect Pokédex entry in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which entails completing every available task for Hisuian Growlithe. Players can also obtain a Shiny Charm to increase their odds by fully finishing their Pokédex and speaking to Professor Laventon.
Evolving Shiny Hisuian Growlithe in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Although players can increase their chances of encountering a Shiny Hisuian Growlithe, it's likely that it will still take some time to get one to spawn. Hisuian Growlithe is aggressive and will attack if players are spotted, so sneaking up on it is the best way to catch it quickly. However, Hisuian Growlithe can also be engaged in battle, and players can drain the Pokémon's health before throwing a Poké Ball to increase their chances of capturing it. Once a Shiny Hisuian Growlithe is caught, players will need to work on evolving it.
The only way to obtain Shiny Hisuian Arcanine is to evolve Shiny Hisuian Growlithe in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The process for evolving the Shiny version is the same as evolving regular Hisuian Growlithe. There are no level or move requirements for evolving Hisuian Growlithe. Instead, players will need to find or purchase a Fire Stone to complete the evolution. Fire Stones can be found in Space-Time Distortions or purchased for Merit Points at the Trading Post in Jubilife Village.
Space-Time Distortions spawn randomly in every region, and players will be alerted when one of these events is active in their current location. There are rare items including evolution stones in Space-Time Distortions in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. However, the items that spawn are also random, so players may not find a Fire Stone. Instead of searching the distortion fields, players can purchase a Fire Stone from the Trading Post for 1,000 Merit Points, which are earned for returning Lost Satchels. After obtaining a Fire Stone, players can use it on their Shiny Hisuian Growlithe to acquire a Shiny Hisuian Arcanine in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
