A new Legend of Zelda cosplay shows off the titular princess’s beautiful blue gown in stunning detail. Previous cosplays featuring Zelda have used magical regalia and the like to create a powerful impact on fans. The franchise is known for featuring a wide variety of aesthetics, giving cosplayers multiple sources of inspiration.

Zelda’s blue royal dress originates from Breath of the Wild, where it can be seen in various flashbacks set in and around Hyrule Castle. Matching the blue garb worn by Link and the other Champions, Zelda’s gown is a clear indicator of her status. The princess herself was heavily burdened by the expectations placed on her in that time. With King Rhoam putting so much pressure on her to unlock her divine powers, it is little wonder that Zelda appears to prefer her much less formal traveling outfit when away from the castle. The shade of blue is a constant, however, which visually ties together all those who oppose Ganon in BOTW, as well as, oddly enough, bearing a striking resemblance to the design of Link’s pajamas from Wind Waker.

Now cosplayer ailyta has brought Zelda’s royal gown to life in a beautiful cosplay posted to Reddit. According to ailyta, the cosplay features over a thousand individual beads, making its creation a clearly slow and painstaking activity. Nevertheless, ailyta has also assured fans that the process was also thoroughly enjoyable, and that they “loved making this dress." It should also be noted that the image, which is itself beautifully framed, was taken by instagram user and photographer lewandasky_photography. In the image, Zelda appears to be standing in some sort of courtyard, a location which can very easily be interpreted as being part of Hyrule Castle. All told, it looks like this Zelda fan has created a perfect cosplay.

Royal Legend Of Zelda Cosplay Is Fit For A Princess

As one of the main characters of The Legend of Zelda franchise, there are plenty of cosplays featuring the princess. Of course, there are just as many, if not even more cosplays featuring Link, and many other popular characters from various games in the series have also been the focus of cosplayers’ efforts over the years. As such, many conventions around the world have played host to the inhabitants of Hyrule over the years. But it isn’t just the friendlier races of Hyrule which have been used for cosplay; many monsters and other enemies have had their own time in the spotlight as well. For example, one particularly notable BOTW cosplay of a working Guardian made a splash among fans earlier this year.

Many hours of work have obviously gone into making ailyta’s royal gown cosplay, and it shows. The finished dress really is fit for a princess, looking to be a perfect match for the original. The composition of the image itself naturally has its own part to play in making ailyta truly appear to be Zelda come to life as well. By placing her in surroundings that make for an extremely appropriate setting, resembling Hyrule Castle itself, the entire scene immediately becomes that much more realistic. For fans of The Legend of Zelda, this impressive cosplay of BOTW's Zelda is sure to amaze.
