Legend of Vox Machina announces an array of famous names are to guest voice characters in the series. Vox Machina is an animated series based on Critical Role, a Dungeons & Dragons web series spanning multiple campaigns. The cartoon is set to follow the first Critical Role campaign.

The main cast will be voiced by the actors who played them on Critical Role, while other key characters have just been revealed, according to Collider. David Tennant is lending his voice to General Krieg, with Stephanie Beatriz portraying Lady Kima, Indira Varma as Allura, and Tony Hale as Sir Fince. Dominic Monaghan will be voicing Archibald and Sunil Malhotra as Gilmore. Council members will be made up of Khary Payton as Sovereign Uriel Tal’Dorei, Gina Torres (Keeper Yennen). It was also confirmed that Felicia Day will be returning to her Critical Role past, and will be playing Captain of Emon for the cartoon.

Back in 2019, the team behind Critical Role started a Kickstarter with a goal of $750,000 to create a 22-minute animated special based on the series. Within the first hour, the Kickstarter garnered over $1 million from fans desperate to support this project. Critical Role’s Kickstarter campaign ended with $11,385,449 with 88,887 backers, smashing their initial goal.

The series is set to premier early on the 28th of January instead of its initial February 4th release. With all this support, Legend of Vox Machina has managed to go from a one-episode special to having two seasons ordered by Amazon Prime before the series even airs. This animated series brings together a highly recognizable cast and creators who are just as invested in the show as the fans are.
