One of the strangest looking films coming out this year is Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, the upcoming fantasy-adventure film from director Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen). The first trailer for the film was extremely beautiful to look at, but something about it seemed very peculiar to me. The talking owls, for starters...
If you need more than just a trailer to get you interested then you're in luck, as a brand new behind-the-scenes featurette has just been released for the movie and we have it below for you to check out. But before we get to that, here's a reminder of the plot for Legend of the Guardians:
Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie’s, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga’Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie’s. The film is based on the first three books in the series Guardians of Ga’Hoole by author Kathryn Lasky.

As we've said before here at Screen Rant, there's definitely some great aspects to what we've seen of Legend of the Guardians so far: the voice talent Snyder has assembled (which includes Sam Neill, Helen Mirren and Geoffrey Rush), the unique plot and the overall gorgeous look of the film. But on the flip-side,the owls themselves look quite creepy and I have a feeling this will be one of those "that was totally awesome" or "that completely sucked" kind of movies. Fingers crossed it turns out to be the former.
Thoughts on the behind-the-scenes featurette and Legend of the Guardians in general? Looking forward to this one?
Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole will be released (in 3D) on September 24th, 2010.
