It's been a busy few weeks for League of Legends. Netflix series Arcane has just ended its final act, announcing the second season in the process, the RPG Ruined King: A League of Legends Story has just been released, and Riot recently gave a new sneak peek of Project L, a tag-team 2D fighting game set in the League of Legends universe. The game has quickly gained a lot of traction for its release, as the sneak peek revealed some looks into returning champions, the game's controls, and an interesting tie-in with Arcane.

The first Project L preview had shown brief gameplay, primarily featuring champions Darius and Ahri, as well as a bit of Katarina. While Katarina was not shown in the sneak peek, Riot Games provided a glimpse into two champions that weren't shown in the reveal: Jinx and Ekko. The sneak peek used the models for the Arcane versions of both Jinx and Ekko, seemingly tying the game with the show's version of the characters.

Jinx has been quite the cover-girl for LoL as a whole recently, with Arcane depicting her backstory and Fortnite releasing a brand new Jinx skin. Her moveset seems to utilize the power of her homemade contraptions and weaponry. She was seen using her iconic shark gun, Fishbones, in the sneak peek as well as her Gatling gun, Pow Pow. Her kit in Project L seems to be long-ranged and explosives-heavy, just like the one she has in League of Legends.

Ekko looking at something with skepticism in Arcane

League Of Legends' punk genius, Ekko, was also revealed to be a playable character in Project L, and he was the center point for most of the sneak peek. Developers Tom and Tony Cannon went very in-depth into Ekko's kit, showcasing his time-reversal ability. In the sneak peek, Ekko was able to manipulate time, allowing the player to either rewind their mistakes or even use it as a means to juggle their opponent in powerful combos. Ekko also has a Chrono-Strike, which seems to be his base attack using his sword. Another item in Ekko's arsenal is Time Winder, which is a grenade that can be thrown to slow down the speed at which the opponent moves. This powerful ability can be used to prolong combos and juggle the player's opponents.

It looks like Ekko will be quite the tricky foe to fight against. Darius and Ahri were featured in both the Project L reveal and the sneak peek. Darius' moveset seems to primarily rely on his Noxian ax, as the reveal showed him juggling Ahri with wide overhead attacks. Ahri's move set was also featured in both videos, showing her electrocuting Darius in the reveal and providing support for Ekko in the sneak peek.

Project L seems to be getting closer to a release, with the gameplay looking polished as ever. As of right now, only Ekko, Jinx, Darius, Ahri, and Katarina have been revealed for the game, but anticipation for other champions joining the fray is high among fans. It shouldn't be long before Riot showcases some new characters from League of Legends into Project L.
