The new mobile-optimized League of Legends: Wild Rift brings back over 40 of the most beloved League of Legends champions for players to collect and take into battle. Like in the original, in League of Legends: Wild Rift, players will compete against other teams or AI in the world of Runeterra and fight through a group of enemies to destroy the other team's Nexus, located within their base. At the start of each match, a player's champion will be set to their lowest stats, and players can build up their power and abilities over the course of the match by eliminating enemies and picking up useful items on their way to the enemy base.

Lulu, the Fae Sorceress, is one champion who has returned in Wild Rift, and she is considered exceptional when used in the Dragon Lane as Mage Support. She can be somewhat difficult to play for newcomers to the series, but she is highly skilled at providing support in a multitude of combat situations. She and her Fae Companion, Pix, can shield allies, deal damage to enemies, and create effects like enlarging or speeding up ally champions and slowing down enemies. She's an excellent choice for control of the battle and helping set up other champions to make good moves. Here are some beginning tips, tricks, and strategies for being successful when playing Lulu in League of Legends: Wild Rift.

Tips, Tricks, and Strategies for Lulu in League of Legends: Wild Rift

Lulu enters the battle arena with Fae Companion Pix in League of Legends: Wild Rift

Like other champions, Lulu has five possible abilities, with one passive and four active to choose from. These include:

  • Pix, Faerie Companion (Innate, Passive): Pix fires magical homing bolts of energy whenever the champion he follows attacks an enemy unit.
  • Glitterlance: Pix and Lulu each fire a bolt of magical energy that deals 50 magic damage to the first enemy hit and 70% damage to any additional enemies. It also slows enemies by 80%.
  • Whimsy: Pix generates a faerie ring that attaches to the first champion that enters for 5 seconds. If cast on Allies, it increases movement speed by 30% and attack speed by 25% for 3.5 seconds. If cast on Enemies, it will polymorph the enemy for 1.25 seconds, prevent them from attacking or casting, and reducing Movement Speed to 60.
  • Help, Pix!: Pix attaches to a targeted enemy or ally for 5 seconds. If attached to an ally, Pix casts a shield that will absorb 70 damage for 5 seconds. If attached to an enemy, Pix deals 80 magic damage.
  • Wild Growth (Ultimate): Lulu enlarges an ally, allowing them to launch enemies into the air for 0.75 seconds. This ability also grants the ally 300 bonus health and reduces the Movement Speed of nearby enemies by 30%.

Lulu is already viable without making ability combos, but players can use certain abilities in a specific order to maximize damage or ally buffs and enemy debuffs. Players can cast Help, Pix!, followed by an optional auto-attack, and finally finish with Glitterlance to increase damage and the reduction of the target's Movement Speed. To really make the most of Lulu's abilities, however, players could add Whimsy to this combo. The progression would be Whimsy, then Help, Pix!, then an auto-attack, and then Glitterlance. This would polymorph enemies, increase damage dealt to them, and finally slow them.

If players want to make the most of Lulu's Wild Growth Ultimate ability, they can start by casting Whimsy, then follow it with Glitterlance, Flash, Wild Growth, two auto attacks, Help, Pix!, two more auto attacks, and finish up with another Glitterlance. It's a more complicated combination, but maximizes the effectiveness of all Lulu's abilities. It's also a good combination for crowd control and damage.

Players should select Flash and either Exhaust or Ignite as Lulu's spells. Flash will improve Lulu's mobility and get her closer to various targets more quickly. Exhaust can further reduce enemy Movement Speed and damage output, which compliments Lulu's other skills well. Ignite, by contrast, allows Lulu to do more damage and reduce enemy healing and regeneration. Players can decide if they would prefer to have her as purely a support character or a character who can also deal more damage.

Champion characters enter the battle arena and fight enemy champions in League of Legends: Wild Rift

Players should pick Runes that also improve Lulu's ability to damage and debuff enemies and augment how much mana she will have access to. These can include:

  • Summon Aery: Like Pix, allows Aery to damage enemies or create a shield around allies
  • Weakness: Increases damage against slowed enemies
  • Regeneration: Replenishes missing health or mana
  • Manaflow Band: Increases maximum mana with each successful hit against an enemy using an ability
  • Pack Hunter: Adds a 2% bonus to movement speed when near an ally
  • Champion: Adds 10% damage against enemy champions, but decreases by 5% each time Lulu dies.

Players should also select items that have these same kinds of effects. Good items for Lulu can include:

  • Protectors Vow
  • Ionian Boots of Lucidity & Redeeming Enchant
  • Ardent Censer
  • Athene's Unholy Grail
  • Harmonic Echo
  • Adaptive Helm

The order in which players will want to build these items largely depends on Lulu's function. As a general support in Dragon Lane, players should pick items up in the listed order. Otherwise, they will want to prioritize the Ardent Censer first.
