Riot Games has announced the Anima Squad 2022 event, bringing a new skin line to the League of Legends PBE servers. Events in League of Legends typically consist of a string of missions for players to complete which reward summoners with event tokens upon completion. Players can spend these tokens to unlock a variety of rewards such as Hextech Keys and skin chromas. Additionally, players can purchase a premium pass for 1650 RP, which will be necessary for anyone who wants to acquire a Prestige skin for a given event.

The upcoming event provides a squad of companions for the classic League of Legends skin Battle Bunny Riven. Battle Bunny Riven was first released in 2012 after being teased as an April Fools joke, only to be released the following June. The skin was not accompanied by any new sounds but it did add some particle effects and animations to the character as well as changes to her model, not least of which was the carrot-orange sword she was equipped with. It's just one of many skins in League of Legends, both comedic and otherwise.

The Anima Squad 2022 event was covered in a recent article by Dexerto following a tweet by the UK & Nordic League of Legends Twitter account. The event is brand new to League of Legends, and there is little information about the details of what missions will be included for players to earn tokens with during the event as of yet. The skins accompanying the event are live on the PBE servers, however, and they are a sight to behold.

There are six new skins included in the event: Battle Bat Vayne, Battle Cat Jinx, Battle Wolf Sylas, Battle Bunny Miss Fortune, Battle Bunny Prime Riven, and Battle Cat Jinx Prestige Edition. The majority of these skins will cost League of Legends summoners 1350 RP to acquire. Battle Bunny Miss Fortune, being a Legendary tier skin will cost 1820 and instead, and, of course, Battle Cat Jinx Prestige Edition will require the event's premium pass and 2000 event tokens.

The new event is also accompanied by a new Essence system. The previous system of Prestige Points is being completely replaced, as is the Gemstone shop. The two features are being rolled up together into one completely new system following in the footsteps of League of Legends' conversion to using Blue and Orange Essence. Instead of Prestige Points and Gemstones, now summoners will have the chance to acquire Mythic Essence which they can spend in the Mythic Shop, which will contain a rotating suite of possible purchases included old prestige skins. The Mythic Shop will kick off containing the new Ashen Knight Pyke skin for 100 Mythic Essence.

With an all-new League of Legends skin event, a new form of in-client currency, a new shop, a set of six new skins as well as an unrelated bonus skin, League of Legends players have a lot to look forward to this month. The League of Legends Anima Squad 2022 Event is set to launch during patch 12.6, which will go live on March 30th. The event is expected to run until the end of April, so players will have plenty of time to get through all the missions and max out their rewards.
