Law & Order: Organized Crime has been renewed by NBC for a second season. The show is the latest series of the Dick Wolf Law & Order franchise, spinning off of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and featuring the return of Elliot Stabler after a decade-long absence. Stabler leads an organized crime unit tasked with bringing down powerful crime syndicates while he is also finding out how much the system has changed since his departure.

The announcement comes after the show has an aired its second crossover episode with SVU, which features Stabler's former partner, Olivia Benson, played by Mariska Hargitay. Organized Crime airs on its Thursday night primetime slot right after SVU, which is on its 22nd season and is the franchise's most successful series. It is currently on a three-year renewal from NBC since its last season, bringing the total number of seasons up to 24.
