A new trailer for the first-person narrative adventure game The Last Worker was revealed during the Guerrilla Collective 2022 livestream, and the game will include a Harry Potter actor. The upcoming sci-fi indie game will put players in the shoes of the lone remaining human in a fully-automated workplace. Summer Game Fest 2022 has featured a number of exciting indie games, including an Oxenfree 2 gameplay trailer, and The Last Worker looks to be another truly unique title.

Developed by Oiffy and Wolf & Wood Interactive, The Last Worker takes a hard look at the increasing automation of the real world. The title's unique artstyle was handcrafted by legendary comic book artist Mick McMahon, best known for co-creating Judge Dredd. The first-person title will see players conduct the mundane daily routine of Kurt, the last remaining worker in the sprawling Jungle Fulfillment Center 1. Accompanied by the robotic companion Skew, players will complete Kurt's day-to-day tasks before eventually delving deeper into the unsettling facility. Guerrilla Collective 3.0 premiered the reveal trailer for RPG WrestleQuest, and many other titles, but The Last Worker stands out thanks to its star-studded cast and unique premise.

A new deep-dive into The Last Worker, later posted to YouTube by IGNwas revealed during Guerrilla Collective 3.0. Writer and director Jörg Tittel leads viewers through an in-depth look at the game, which is set to feature a voice cast of iconic actors. Jason Isaacs, who played Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter film series, will star alongside Zelda Williams, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Clare-Hope Ashitey, David Hewlett and Tommie Earl Jenkins. While early gameplay seems to focus on sorting packages using a gravity-defying gun, a group of activists called Spear will eventually recruit Kurt to perform some stealthy espionage. A free demo for The Last Worker is available now on Steam, with a full release set for later this year.

Prior to Guerrilla Collective 3.0 and The Last Worker, Summer Game Fest 2022 had gameplay trailers of its own to share. The digital event, hosted by Geoff Keighley, officially unveiled gameplay for a number of highly-anticipated titles like The Callisto Protocol and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. A cinematic trailer for Marvel's Midnight Suns also revealed the game's inclusion of Spider-Man and his nemesis Venom. Keighley announced The Last of Us: Part 1, a complete remake of the beloved post-apocalyptic title, at the end of the Summer Game Fest 2022 stream.

The Last Worker looks like a fascinating first-person adventure that deconstructs the modern conundrum of automation in the workplace. Creator Jörg Tittel promises that the title will deliver drama, comedy and horror in equal measure, and voice work from professionals like Jason Isaacs will help reach this goal. The Harry Potter star is known for portraying villains, but The Last Worker will cast him as a humorous and helpful robot instead.
