Anyone who preordered The Last of Us Part II or Marvel's Iron Man VR through the official PlayStation store will be receiving a refund of their purchase, according to Sony's official website. This news comes only a few days after it was announced that both Iron Man VR and The Last of Us Part II would be delayed indefinitely following complications stemming from the current COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

Both the developers at Naughty Dog and the publishers at Sony know fans have been waiting a long time for The Last of Us Part II to release, and they have already stated they are doing everything in their power to get the game in the hands of players as soon as possible. Despite showing off some new screenshots to help tide players over, however, there hasn't been much official news since the announcement of the game's latest delay, and now new information by Sony is making it look like players may have to wait even longer than expected before the game is finally in their hands.

Now, according to Sony's own PlayStation Support website, players who pre-ordered either Marvel's Iron Man VR or The Last of Us Part II will be receiving refunds from the company. The official statement says this process will happen automatically and that players should check their email for more details, but it does not give an estimated date for either of these titles to return.

Video games isn't the only industry which has been affected by the coronavirus, but the lengthy development times of high-quality AAA titles will likely mean that more delays will happen in the near future. This is especially disheartening news for fans of The Last of Us, as the game was originally pushed from from an even earlier release date and fans were anxious to finally get their hands on Naughty Dog's latest title.

Hopefully, both Sony and Naughty Dog will let players know of a new estimated release date soon, and the same goes for Camouflaj, the development company currently working on Iron Man VR. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread across the globe, people need video games to help pass the time (and also keep their mind occupied) while in quarantine, at least according to the World Health Organization, and huge exploration-focused titles like The Last of Us Part II or immersive simulator games like Iron Man VR are exactly what people need right now.
